Highly recommended stay

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 weeks ago
The staff is very friendly and lovely. The tour guide is extremely knowledgeable his name is Tupu and was fantastic to see and learn so much on the tours. The excursions are well worth the value. Especially because we did this trip on school times and was fantastic for my daughter to learn while on holidays. Would come back again.

Thank you for your review.
We are very proud of staff :) Tupu and his team are the winners of the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum best tour team award this year. We always suggest where you are able to join one (or many) of our tours - not only do they have a wealth of local knowledge, they are friendly and there's always a bit of humour - we are glad you got to experience this too!
thanks again

The room was spacious and I couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous view. It truly was paradise, just steps away from the beach.
The room I was assigned had a kitchenette, complete with an apartment size fridge, a microwave, an electric hot plate & a pot to boil water for coffee. I went with family & days that we didn't want to eat at the resort Cafe, we bought groceries from Farmer Joe's about half hour away and cooked in the room.
Had a wonderful time staying at Return to Paradise & would definitely return.

Room tip: High tides can prevent you from going into the water, but there's always the resort pools. If your has a kitchenette, stock up at the local market

Thank you for your review. The room type you had was a beachfront suite which is a great option if you would like to do some of your own cooking, and have a bigger fridge, toaster, oven and the like. We are glad you were able to do this and found it suitable for your needs. (Frankies is about 20minutes away, and Farmer Joe's is about 45minutes).
The view of Return to Paradise beach is beautiful - we are indeed very lucky.
We are glad that you enjoyed your time with us, and we do look forward to hosting you again one day in the future.
Thank you

We had a fab stay at RTP. We had a two bedroom garden villa which had all we needed.
The gym had recently opened and was very well equipped. Great quality machines and weights. Two of us were in training for a half marathon so were really pleased to find it so well set up. Running on the road you have to be careful of the stray dogs so this felt safer and cooler.
The staff were fab and nothing ever a problem. Arranging a hire car at late notice or answering any question.
Samoa is ideal for sitting back and relaxing. The scenery Is beautiful.

Room tip: Quite a large resort - pool is nice. Beach wasn’t open during our stay due to weather/waves. Recommend a car so you can go exploring.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us including our new gym and it helped you keep up with the training for your half marathon! It was really important to us to have a gym with high quality equipment and so far the feedback has been awesome.
We agree - Samoa is ideal for sitting back and relaxing - and we hope to continue to attract guests who are looking for that type of experience. Be surrounded by the natural beauty of Samoa - enjoying our "island time".
Thanks again and good luck with the half marathon!

Return to Paradise resort is such a special place for so many reasons. It’s easy to write about the most beautiful beach and landscaped grounds, the fantastic Rock Pool Bar amongst the crashing waves; clean rooms with AC and big comfy beds & showers that were really appreciated after several weeks of us staying in more rustic beach fales.
The staff here are what bring your days here to another level. There’s a selection of excursions not be missed with Tupu, the best Samoan guide and story teller, and the amazing staff that perform as the Maeva Band on Saturdays - this one is not to be missed. Beautiful harmonies as they sing and perform cultural dance.
We booked directly on the hotel website to get the best prices. All that’s left now is figuring out a date to ‘Return to Paradise’.
Many thanks to Mel and all the staff for making our stay so amazing.

Room tip: Don’t miss the Maeva String Band performance.

Hi Sinder
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us.
Thank you for mentioning our beach, grounds, Rock Pool bar, rooms, and decor. And highlighting our tours (and guide Tupu), and Maeva band, as well as your reservation. Many of our teams and staff work together to make our Paradise - we are very proud of their efforts but even more so knowing we hit the mark (you had an amazing stay)!
Safe travels back to Canada, until your come to see us again!

Return to Paradise Resort is wholly owned and run by Samoans who are the loveliest people in the world. The resort has the best location with our rooms ( with balconies looking out on to what might be described as a "caricature" of a tropical beach. Going to sleep with the sound of waves crashing on the shore is so relaxing. Plenty to do - a shuttle into Apia ( Capitol) with plenty of time to see the magnificent wooden ceiling of the Catholic Church and a short taxi drive to the house of Robert Louis Stevenson, the author of Kidnapped, Treasure Island and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. A full day tour of several beaches and areas of interest including demonstrations of cultural traditions. Our driver Tesse ( number 1) and guide Tupu were fun companions and Tupu's knowledge of Samoan culture and governance is really interesting. He throws in the occasional myth as well. We watched the 1930s film Return to Paradise with Gary Cooper all filmed in the area. We had supper AND warm popcorn! The Maeva Band was a stand out. Singing both contemporary and Samoan songs and the dancing was incredible! They were great boys tto, big grins. In the resort, there are several swimming pools as well as the sea, several places inwhich to eat and a cocktail at the bar watching the sunset is very special. A lovley place to visit and stay.

Room tip: Suggest hiring a car as the resort is on the other side of the island. It's fairly remote but there are little markets in driving distance.

Talofa Susan,
Thank you for your review - it made us laugh reading about Tupu throwing in an occassional myth! He is knowledgable, humble, and humurous - and we agree with you - litstening to him when he is sharing his local knowledge is quite mesmerising - we learn something knew all the time. (Even about Countries outside of Samoa).
There is plenty to see and do in Samoa, and here at Return to Paradise. We are glad you ventured out to see the Robert Louis Stevenson museum, and also enjoyed our Gary Cooper Movie (1950s :)). And as you mentioned our award winning Maeva show every Saturday night - we are very proud of them.
Samoa is a great place to relax and unwind, falling asleep to the crashing waves is a luxury we are afforded every day - and we dont want to take that for granted. We are glad you were able to experience this too!
Thank you

Thank you for your review.
Tupu is fantastic - we had guests return to Samoa after having a tour with him 14 years ago. This of course speaks volumes to Tupu as a person - his knowledge and experience is amazing and are glad you were able to experience a tour with him!
We love being Samoan owned and operated - that does make us unique and our goal is that this is our strength and a reason for excellence and outstanding service. Thank you for coming to enjoy, relax and blend in :)
