“We can't think of any negative feedback!”

First impressions - What a lovely place to spend the next week. We felt immediately welcome, with a personal greeting from David the owner. Christmas Cottage is well equipped and every room was so tasteful, comfy and inviting. In addition to being well presented, the little but well appreciated attention to detail such as radio in the bedroom, coffee maker and pods, teabags and sugar in the kitchen, along with nibble bowl and Scandinavian Christmas decorations, napkins and candles provided a cosy New Year break. The secure courtyard provided parking and a little private garden.
David was always on hand should we need him and with his assistance we were directed to local restaurants - Dolce Vita, to quote Chris “the best Italian outside Italy” was our favourite and just along the road the Cock Inn. We also enjoyed lovely walks locally and had easy access into the Forest of Dean and its attractions. A short drive away is Chepstow which is a beautiful town in Wales with its castle and many unique shops. We also made good use of the well stocked local convenience shop.
We can't think of any negative feedback to provide! We would definitely look to stay there again and are happy to recommend this property as it ticks all the boxes - including wi-fi should you need it.

“Felt at home straight away!!”
Reviewed 19 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Thank you David straight away you made us very welcome, on arriving at the cottage its every bit what you see in the pictures, the atmosphere is even better.
The off road parking is a bonus as is the local store just on site, the chip shop and pub are all walking distance with several walks on the doorstep.
The forest is just a short drive away as well so you can have a relaxing break at the cottage or walk yourself silly.
The Cottage is clean and kitted out well the bedding and towels are lovely and soft but most of all the locals are very friendly and love dogs.
David we will see you again its a must!!!

“Perfect”
Reviewed 13 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We spent one week in Christmas Cottage and couldn't fault it at all. Very welcoming, as was the owner also. Attention to detail was spot on and of a very high standard.
Perfect location. Lots of walks direct from cottage and many other walks and sites to see, a short drive away.
Highly recommend this cottage and location. Will definitely go back. :)

“The one & only cottage to stay in the Forest of Dean”
Reviewed 15 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Christmas Cottage is a beautifully presented cottage with everything you need for a relaxing break. There is a small garden area to sit in and plenty of parking. David is a fantastic host and has put a lot of attention to detail in the cottage.Blakeney is a good base with good restaurants/ takeaways, a village shop that stocks almost everything, good walks close by & the Forest of Dean on the doorstep. We will definitely return.

“Charming cottage in lovely spot.”
Reviewed 13 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

On arrival we were met by the owner who had generously provided fresh milk, tea an coffee for a much needed drink after a long journey. The cottage was comfy and tastefully decorated and the only thing we felt was missing was either a coffee table or nest of tables on which to place drinks when lounging. This is not a complaint but rather a suggestion as everything you could need was provided. The sitting out space was small but perfectly adequate and the car parking was adjacent. The actual forest was just a short walk away and it was easy to get to other places by car.
If I was visiting this area again I would have no hesitation in staying in Christmas Cottage. Thanks David
