We have stayed with Jean-Paul and Sylvie on at least half a dozen occasions and would not dream of trying anywhere else in the area if they can accept our booking. They welcome you like old friends and the accommodation is a delight,a bungalow that feels English! Jean-Paul speaks excellent English and does everything possible to make your stay delightful.
Our regular booking is when we visit the Dunkirk Food and Wine Fair at the end of October (recommended, by the way, in that it features small French growers whose wines you can only buy in France and a huge range of French produce) and we always stay 2 nights so that we can explore the less well known areas of the Pas-de-Calais. Staying at Kerloan with Jean-Paul and Sylvie is very much part of what is always a joyful experience. The rooms are very comfortable, the breakfasts excellent with great choice, the gardens are attractive and we have happy conversations with Jean-Paul and Sylvie. There is a bar next door which serves good food at a very reasonable price. A kilometre away is a much posher but pricey restaurant which serves high quality food. Finally, Sangatte is a peaceful and attractive resort, and very close to Calais and the ferry if you go by the back way through Calais.

Room Tip: This is a B&B, not a hotel, but all rooms are delightful. There is one suite of two rooms with shared bathroom to cater for families

Felt so welcome. Nice and charming room, with good atmosphere. Close to the beach - tog a morning swim before breakfast. Very god breakfast with fx homemade yogurt and bread. I will highly recommend this place for even a one night stay or a whole week.

After trawling through all the usual hotel comparison websites and not finding a fantastic review for any of the chain hotels, as a last resort we looked at the Calais Tourist Board website and found this B&B. What a perfect find! We were only over for 2 days for a shopping/relaxing trip, and Kerloan is located about 15 minutes drive from the port of Calais, and less than 7 minutes from Auchan hypermarket. Lots of secure free parking on site (unlike most of the major chains). Jean-Paul, the owner, was amazing - so friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. When he found out that the bar further down the road was closed, he offered us a drink on the house. There is use of a small fridge so you can put water, juice, food in. Breakfast is also wonderful. Buffet continental breakfast, but not the usual cheap and nasty supermarket croissants etc. Huge, light fluffy croissants, choice of two high quality cereal, creamy, tasty yoghurts, crusty bread, cheeses, juice, coffee and tea. We had the Pink Room, with access to the patio and garden, but my only little gripe was because of the lack of opening windows, it did get a bit hot at night. There was a screen which could be fitted to the back door to leave it open, but although the garden is perfectly secure, I didn't fancy leaving the door open all night!! Thank you Jean-Paul. If we are in Calais again, will definitely stay.

Room Tip: Pink Room has beautiful view and access to patio and garden, but can get hot at night. If you don't mind sleeping with open door and close fitting netted screen will be OK.

I stayed here for a night as a stop off point on a cycle trip to Paris. Altogether there were 7 people. We arrived hot and tired after our 80 mile cycle from London and a stressful ferry trip.
Jean-Paul greeted us all with limitless supplies of cold orange juice.
We had arranged to park our bikes in the garage, and this was clean and secure. I think Jean-Paul understood the importance of cycle security to us!

As we were the only people staying there, we were given the freedom to choose our rooms, and in fact rather than share, we were able to choose single rooms.

The breakfast on our day of departure was amazing - Fresh bread, hot croissants, preserves, home made yoghurt, cereal, granola, fruit.... The list went on and on - just what we needed with 6 hours of cycling ahead of us. We had a great time at Kerloan. We will definitely return with our families in more relaxed circumstances!

We even had a walk along the beach at sunset - beautiful!

I would like to back up my review from July 2012. Again we enjoyed our stay with the usual welcome. The B&B is very clean, neat and comfortable. The Relais de Sangatte next door has a friendly atmosphere and a good choice of food. it is nice to walk to a restaurant nearby specially after a long drive. Kerloan is an ideal location for the Tunnel and ferries. Just a 5 minute drive away we shop at Auchan, fill up with petrol and head home..I would recommend a stay here.
