A fantastic stay at this hotel, having been back in the UK for 7yrs since residing in this area, it was a pleasure to return and experience this hotel again.
Greeting us at reception with a warm and friendly manner was Noellia and the team. Courteous and helpful given we were not due to check in for another hour, directed us to the restaurant to have lunch then would ring us when the room was ready, which she promply done.
The room was on 6th floor (617) seaview and gave amazing panoramic views. Very clean with bottles of water in the fridge, a free safe to use and daily refreshed toileteries. For us Brits, you even get ITV1 + 2 on the tv if that floats your boat.
The Restaurant... well many years ago i worked locally as a chef and had the pleasure of making aquaintance of Celicio, the Exec Chef at the hotel. He helped me a lot in those days and was wonderful to see him still here, leading a great team turning our excellent cuisine under restaint budgets. Themed evenings and plenty of choice, so the extra 10lb ive put on shows. Also big thank you to Gustavo and Antonio for their kindness on my wife's birthday. A cake and staff singing happy birthday was an amazing touch.
In the bar was Alex who was first class at his job. Kept the place clean and ticking over, even whilst facing the challenges of introducing a new starter fresh with their own challenges. I would say to the hotel, invest in this young man properly, do not lose him which i fear you will. Drinks prices are very reasonable for a hotel and are waitered served to your tables. Entertainment is good, even if only to watch the people dancing, they really do take it serious, turning up in professional dancing shoes etc and i could only applaud them
The hotel itself as you often see on tv programmes (A Place in the Sun) is in a fantastic seafront location where you can npt only venture to local bars and restaurants, but i would suggest going further afield by bus (coach) to Torrevieja or Cartegena. Believe it or not but its luxury travel for Euro 1.20 per person so basically £1.00. Torrevieja is amazing and head for the main square and pop into Valor for Chocolate and Churros. It is also very close to the new shopping centre which is good for a visit, if you do try La Tapa Bar its a great experience.. but go there hungry, youll see whst i mean!!
Although not a part of the hotel, also pop next door for a sundowner at La Mirada, very busy but very encapuslating.
All in all, a fantastic stay, great to meet up with so many familiar faces again, and i promise it will not be 7yrs this time before we return.
