Check out time and sea view

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 16 Jan 2020
Stayed 4th January to 7th. Full board. Booked with booking.com with special offer including sea view room and we have stayed there numerous times over the last 15 years. On checking in we had to pay extra 72 euro for the sea view which we understood was included in booking.
This special offer was no longer special.
On the morning of departure we had room staff at the door to say we had to be out by 10am. Strange as breakfast didnt finish until 10am. We then discovered rooms lock automatically at 10 and on return at 10.10 we were locked out.
The rest of our stay was fantastic with great staff , great food and lovely bar and relaxing pool area. Shame about the down points. Sent 3 emails to Hotel. No reply ???

We came several years ago to the area and we saw the hotel and thought it looked lovely, so here we are now living in Spain and it was my birthday on Saturday so my treat was to stay here for a night, We had a lovely view on the first floor, We arrived early in the afternoon and thought we would try to check in and the Receptionist was very helpful and checked us in with no queries, We also paid extra for the secure parking which was great even though there is lots of parking on the street its just safer knowing our car is fine, Well, the hotel is situated between two bays... Stunning.. Say no more! I had a perfect birthday, Room with a view, Clean, Big beds, Toiletries which if I'd realised I wouldn't have packed mine!! Great service and Breakfast Buffet was plentiful, lots of choice, and a few people were enjoying the cava which was there for the offering! We are already looking to go back for Hubbys birthday.. We also walked around to Cabo Roig and walked to La Zenia boulevard on the evening... Only took us a 20min walk!!!

Room tip: We paid for Sea Views and definitely glad I did, Watching the Sunrise was spectacular

This was our 10th stay in this hotel. Rooms not ready until 5pm and we had to keep coming back to reception to be told another half hour.Took family as it was a special occasion and were not given sea view rooms that we had specifically requested when booking. When we got into our rooms and discovered we had no view, I called reception as I really wanted 2 sea views - they took over an hour to call back with the option to move. Not great. This was a 2 night stay in December - find it hard to believe the hotel reception was so busy they couldn't deal with this better (or meet our request). We had a great stay but felt the reception were difficult and it was supposed to be a treat for our parents. Rest of the staff were lovely and the food still great, but we were disappointed. Will think twice about returning.

Dear Rebecca Atkinson,

We would like to thank you for your nice comments about the food and our hotel staff.

With reference to the check-in time, we would like to inform you that, as it is published in our website, the access to the room is always made available as soon as possible but never after 16:00 h. We are sorry for any misunderstanding but we are aware that your room was ready before that time and we called you to inform you that it was available. On the other hand, we would like to mention that you booked a room without sea view and our staff informed you both by email and during the check in time that if you preferred the room with sea view it had an extra cost.

We apologize if we have not been able to meet your expectations this time and we look forward to see you back in our hotel, ensuring you that we will make all efforts in order to make your next stay as special as usual.

Kind regards,
Customer Service Department

We came over in November with a group of friends for the birthday of a friend who lives there. We all stayed in the La Zenia Hotel for four nights which met our needs perfectly.
The buffet restaurant has a good choice and is clean and bright, plus on half board you get breakfast and either the lunch or the dinner, which gave us flexibility with our arrangements. There is a large bar with nice décor and is well laid out and helpful and friendly staff, as were all the staff in the hotel.
Being November however the temperature was on the cold side with a light wind, so this was not a sun, beach and swimming holiday. Although we did get to sit around the pool a couple of times on sunny days and took advantage of the small heated indoor pool with spa and gym facilities, courtesy of a free one-off introduction given on arrival for those that booked through ServiGroup.
Our room was on a high floor; overlooked the sea, caught the sun all day long and the balcony was out of the wind. The Hotel stands alone between two nice sandy beaches; the area is almost exclusively villa apartments.
The only real negative is there are no nearby shops and only a couple of other local bars. The nearest area for shops, and bars being a 20min walk away and other more developed areas with designer shops and for nightlife are a +10min taxi ride away.
The Hotel is probably spot on for 4Star rating with its location being both its strength and its weakness depending on what you want from a holiday

First visit to the Costa Blanca and Servigroup Hotel La Zenia is now right at the top of our best-ever hotels list. It’s smack bang between two beaches, each one with a great beach bar, and has its own extensive and very smart outside seating, swimming and sunbathing area.

The hotel has a happy holiday feel; it’s friendly and bright and standards are high. Our good-size room had plenty of storage and a balcony with a view of the sea, palm trees and busiest beach. The self-service restaurant offered a tasty and varied menu with wines, typically €10-12, served to our table.

The crowning glory is the big and stylish art-deco Bar, in classy turquoise and with colourful lantern decorations. Prices here, too, are reasonable and the nightly entertainment was mostly good, especially the wonderful professional dancers. We also enjoyed drinks served outside.

Don’t miss visiting the impressive La Zenia Boulevard and Cabo Roig marina. The hotel’s efficient receptionists will call a cab for you.
