This busy Saturday market is easy to navigate - it’s all on one closed off street of about a mile long. Food, vegetables, fruit stalls and hot food/drinks vans with small seating areas are positioned on the left as you walk up from the Celtic Isle/Zenia Garden roundabout - this makes it all a lot simpler getting from stall to stall without missing any. Parking is mainly on street along the road leading down from AP-7 motorway access or in and around Zenia Boulevard shopping mall which means you should be able to get to within a short walking distance. Quite a few of non food stalls sell the same type of wares and to be honest a lot is either tourist tat or cheap knock off stuff (so no different to many other similar markets) - that having said we found some really nice jumpers for our grandchildren made in Peru. Out of season (we visited mid November) it’s a pleasant stroll in the not too hot sun but in summer it probably a very different story!
A very busy Saturday market, especially in peak season. The market is huge and has many types, of stalls and food outlets.
About 1,5 km street full of market. Vegetables, cloths, bags, shoes, anything you need. It is good place to do sopping or only walk and looking.
Like all markets some things were repeated but there was lots of variety. Clothes, shoes, towels, crockery, fruit, veg, herbs and spices, handbags, children's toys,CDs,sunglasses and probably some I've forgotten. Toilets half way up and a few places for a drink and something to eat. Walk up one side and down the other so you don't miss anything out.
Generally markets in the UK are declining but in Spain they are very much supported by both locals and tourists, probably because you can still openly buy fake branded goods but personally I don't have an issue with that because people buy such goods would never buy the real brand and also you can haggle over the price not something that UK market traders are interested in. Anyway, this market is huge, probably the best part of a mile walking both ways. Set up early Saturday morning along a straight road and selling fruit & veg, bakers, clothes, glasses, flowers, shoes, in fact you name it you can find it!, the "lookie lookie" men also use the street to sell and are very popular but not with the police!!. The market has several small mobile cafe's where you can buy snacks and drinks, there are also 2 bars and two Chinese restaurants. Actually a good market, you can haggle with most stall holders but it can be rammed!! be prepared for several hundred people probably up to a thousand walking both ways! but great fun, take a hat in the summer!! you can buy water!. Overall if you are in the area and like markets then it is well worth a visit!. Enjoy!.
We always visit this market on Saturdays in Spain. It's a good market with plenty of stalls where there's always bargains. When you get thirsty there's a good Irish pub in the middle to call into!!
