“Spring in the mountains - wildflowers galore”
Reviewed 10 June 2018 for a stay in May 2018

We came back to visit Casa Lera in late May into early June. The four of us had a wonderful time and enjoyed the spring flowers and greenery. Walks took longer as we studied all the different kinds of flowers. The owners have a book on wildflowers in the area so we could identify those we saw. We enjoyed all the good food the area has to offer also. Had an unexpected encounter with the Giro d'Italia cycling race going through on the day we visited Ascoli Picena. We found out later that they went through Amandola too! Also enjoyed the Gola dell'Infernaccio walk as there was so much more water (of course!) than in summer.

“Beautiful house and pool for a group”
Reviewed 13 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We returned to Casa Lera and enjoyed it more than ever. We coincided with the Lucifero heatwave but with the gorgeous pool to immerse ourselves in we could cool off wonderfully. The house was never hot. We did close all shutters in the daytime and put the fan on when cooking in the evening.

We six friends (3 couples) had the best time eating and drinking and swimming and laughing and walking. Food shopping was always fun with the market one day and several small shops to buy delicious fruit, vegetables, and meat, and good grocery stores. The prosciutto di Parma at Conad was our favorite. Giuliano at the fresh pasta shop is the best - his ricotta and lemon ravioli are superb. He also has great antipasto - excellent artichoke hearts. I think we ate his pasta almost everyday.

The peaceful feeling of the house and location is what we most enjoyed. We were also very entertained by the swallows putting on aerial displays as they swooped over the pool taking a quick dip on the fly. We still miss being there. We'll be back!

“Italian idyll”
Reviewed 20 February 2016 for a stay in July 2015

We had such a fabulous time here. The house is drop dead gorgeous inside (the bathrooms are amazing) and outside is the stunning countryside. Not sure which is my favorite part but the covered patio that overlooks the pool is pretty special. For meals, of course, but also for hanging out and watching the rain from the occasional thunderstorms. The pool is another haven; so delicious when it's hot to immerse yourself in. Love the outdoor shower too.
We were part of a large group and slept in the pool house, so I can vouch for the completely comfortable sofa bed. If you need the space, it's better to put someone to sleep here who is ok to go down the spiral staircase for the shower/toilet. It's also a great space to watch movies with loads of DVDs to choose from.
The hiking is wonderful from right out the door to a short drive away. A word of warning. I thought we'd add to the owner's map collection with a collection of smaller maps of the Sibillini area. We took one out for a hike only to find that the area shown on the map cover wasn't included in the map itself. What was intended to be a short walk took a lot longer! So be careful when you look at those maps to plan your hike and take more than one. We went to Macerata for the opera - beautiful place. Urbs Salvia was fun to tour. About 40 minutes drive to the coast with nice resorts to choose from and the Adriatic to swim in.
My husband loved shopping for fruit/veg/meat/fish in the market and cooking in the fully equipped kitchen. The market is also great for clothes and linens and handbags. There is a wonderful fresh pasta shop on the main road into town before the market. We walked into the town one day but would take a car to do the shopping. This is an exceptional rental property and you can tell that the owners put a lot of thought into what visitors would need so that you'll find all the books about the area in the house and can plan your trips out from these.

“Perfect Vacation Escape”

I traveled to Amandola after a long stay in Rome. I wanted to escape the craziness of Rome and retreat to the wilderness where I can just relax and enjoy the sun and rural beauty of the Italian countryside. The house and the area surpassed every expectation and dream that I conceived. The region was breath taking. A perfect mixture of pure nature and Italian culture. Old medieval townships and churches rest a top rolling green hills fixed between giant mountains are a must see for anyone touring Italy. Amandola was a 2 minute drive from the house grounds, but was completely isolated from any neighbors or farms. During my 14 day stay, I never saw anyone except when I went to the town to buy groceries or on my long nature hikes. Which brings me to my two favorite things about my trip, food and hiking. The food was to die for, the local market have the freshest fruits, vegetables, cheese, breads, meats, and fish that I've ever had. The house was equipped with every pan, utensil, and utility that I needed to feel like an Italian chef (hand made forno pizza surpasses every pizza in the states). This was awesome because my friends and I would spend most of the days completely emerged in long hikes throughout the National Park. The house had a lot of literature on different hikes throughout the region and no two hikes were the same. Each had their own special flavor to them (my favorite was the church on top of the mountain). The was the best base camp to eat and relax before the next hike. I cannot wait to go back! This is a MUST for anyone who is going to Italy.

“Gorgeous redone private Italian countryside villa with pool”

This place is phenomenal. This place is completely redone without losing its original flavor, with a wonderful pool and outdoor area, an outdoor Forno (Pizza oven) and literally on the edge of Monti Sibillini National Park with spectacular mountain views and great hiking. It is just outside the beautiful Italian village of Amandola.
