Little of Glow worms seen
Consider having separate / special trips for those with small kids (under 7) so that everyone else does not miss out on Glow worms from noisy kids or kids taking photos.

We're sorry to hear you were disappointed in your glowworm cave experience.

Small children and infants are welcome on our tours; however, we advise that it's not recommended. We leave it up to parental discretion to decide if their child can stay silent inside the grotto section of the tour.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and provide a recommendation on how we can improve the experience for various age groups.

Very glad we went to see one of these glow worm caves, which exist nowhere else in the world. This particular cave tour was well-organized and boat was comfortable. Not too much walking. Our guide provided helpful information and was able to answer questions.

This visit in Dec 2022 was my 3rd visit in 20 years, and was as delightful as the previous visits.

The boat ride to the caves is a nice experience, which gets better - with the presentation, then the walk, and finally the short boat ride in the glow-worm grotto.

The entire experience is a positive one.

I would certainly recommend staying at Te Anau for at least one night to enjoy the Glow worm caves and the other delights Te Anau offers.

I did the version of this tour which picks you up in Queenstown and then meets the broader group at Manapouri. It’s a big day, that involves a 7am start, in order to get you to your first ferry ride at 10am, and then up through Wilmot Pass and onto the 3 the Doubtful Sound cruise. Then you do the whole lot in reverse and get back 12 hours after we left.

It was a great experience. The tour was well run, it ran to time, all the many transitions between transports were smooth, tour guides were helpful, informative and personable. And being able to grab a coffee on board was a delight.

The scenery is breathtaking, absolutely stunning. No photo could properly capture it, and catching this Real NZ tour made it easy to access and a total breeze for us on our first full day in NZ. You can arrange for a packed lunch when you book your tickets but you’re just as welcome to BYO, and that was a winner for us!

As a side note, both boats had toilets and were amongst the cleanest public toilets I have ever used.

Would recommend to others.

Stunning, well run operation. Boat across lake Te Anau, guided tour through an expansive, young, active cave to a punt song glow worm covered cave. Superb experience.
