A lovely pub restaurant within the hotel, with an excellent chef in the countryside just outside Blackpool. The mozzarella wrapped in ham was very tasty, the sea bream and salmon was beautifully presented and plentiful and the apple tart with caramel sauce was scrumptious. My two dining companions thoroughly enjoyed their ham hock terrine, seared tuna and sticky toffee pudding. With a round of drinks the bill came to just over £25.00 each which is very good for the standard of cooking. The staff were friendly and not intrusive. They also did not refer to us as 'you guys' which makes a pleasant change. Highly recommended.

My friend and I called in for a lunchtime snack and a drink. The service was quick, the food was delicious and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. This was the second time we had visited and it certainly won't be the last.

My husband and I only stayed one night at this hotel but if we are in the area again we will definitely stay here again. The room was clean and comfortable and included all we required. The staff were warm and friendly and the breakfast though not extensive was very good.

We stayed at The Birley Arms Hotel last year, and it was such a great place, we actually planned a vacation around staying here. Glad we came back! The welcome is wonderful. Our room was cozy, and well-equipped. We had an outdoor seating area that was nice for an afternoon drink. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast options were plentiful and very tasty. A good location for exploring the coast, or traveling further afield, too. Easy parking. Without a doubt, though, the very, very best thing about this hotel is Julie, the tireless woman who was so thoughtful and a great host. Julie, we were so impressed by your energy and hard-work (and the pancakes!!). Thank you for a great week.

We spent the weekend here with family for my birthday. The website offers the rooms at £80. Upon confirming the booking, you’re charged an additional £15 for an additional person. It has become apparent since that we all paid a different rate ... despite myself booking months before.

Plenty of car parking.

The communal areas including the restaurant, bar and external areas are modern. The bedrooms are quite basic offering the general hotel offerings. Toiletries, hair dryer and iron all in the room.

The internet said that the bedrooms had air conditioning - only to be told that non of them did. The rooms were incredibly hot. Maybe wise to invest in some fans. The sink in our bathroom had a few hairs in and around. They were the wrong colour to be any of ours! The bedding wasn’t very good quality and could be upgraded.

Breakfast on the first day ... Eggs Royale was delicious! Whilst there was a couple of mix ups ... once resolved... it was worth the wait. The tables were a little sticky! Even the paper napkins stuck to the tables.

We stayed at the pub for the football ...great atmosphere.

Thirteen of us had Dinner In the evening. The majority of us enjoyed the food and presentation was to a high standard. We had a range of starters and mains ranging from the Scallop and Chorizo skewers, prawn cocktail, steak pie etc. The Chateaubriand, whilst delicious it was way over cooked for rare.

The staff are hard working and friendly. We were awoke the following morning to the chef and a lady having a domestic outside our window. One of our party was advised that there would be no breakfast due to the kitchen running out of gas. This was denied when we all turned up for the breakfast later in the morning. A very strange situation.

Our room was cleaned the second day. We went to use the cups in the evening to find that the cups had been turned back over but we’re still dirty from the partys night! It would take a couple of minutes to either rinse them out or swap them out with clean ones.

We asked about the air conditioning as we had now spent two nights awake due to the heat! We were confronted by a couple of ladies asking where we had got this information from. We showed them the website ... that clearly advertised that the rooms had air conditioning!

I would stay again but would hunt down a reduced rate if they’re out there.
