My family and friends (a total group of 11, including four children and an infant) joined this tour that took in local producers of olive oil, herbs and essential oils, hand-made goat bells and honey, as well as a visit to a spectacular Byzantine church in the mountains. George, our guide, was a knowledgeable, hospitable and warm host throughout the day. Each stop was thoughtful and fascinating, with the local producers displaying their passion and expertise, with ample opportunity for sampling (the kids' favourite bit!). The visit was rounded off by a sumptuous and delicious lunch with a magnificent view. Each producer was engaged in a labour of love, which showed in the quality of the produce - we couldn't help but buy a little something at every stop! All our party, from the grandparents to the kids, had a great day out. Highly recommended.

Well worth the money for a great trip out into the countryside. We found the trip online before our visit and paid at the tourist information office in Vamos.
Small groups of six or eight people is ideal. George is a friendly and knowledgable guide who makes the trip fun. His minibus is comfy and clean.
We visited the cheese maker, the guy who makes sheep and goats bells, a farm with herbs and olive oil, a church with beautiful frescos and a taverna in the mountains where we all sat for a meal.
It's a whole day out with loads to see and learn about.

Always a delight to spend time with George and all his associates in the villages around Vamos. Such a diverse range of local products are made and sold in this area and there is always something new to learn about the complexities of this wonderful part of Crete

Where to start? The whole tour with our guide George was unforgettable!. If you want to see original places and experience a true Cretan environment, this is the trip for you. We learned about how olive oil, goat bells (yes, really!) and essential oils were made by local producers who took the time to make us very welcome. Top of my favourite stops was the incredibly beautiful frescoed Byzantine church followed by an authentic home made meal - a delicious ending to a brilliant tour.
