We have passed a unforgettable week at the nakou village. The owners make us feel like home. The gave us lots of suggestions for the area and we try every day mrs Doras cooking recipes. Excellent views from our terasse and very clean rooms.

I visited Nakou village this summer, with two of my university friends, and we absolutely loved it!

The cottages were beautiful - inside and out. The traditional exterior was picturesque, and inside the cottages offered all amenities as well as a simple but excellent decor.

When we settled in we also noticed the most delicious homemade almond biscotti along with some homemade jam for us to enjoy. I could personally eat those everyday!! We later found out that they were made by Ioanna's lovely mum, which made it even more personal.

As for the location, we appreciated being a little outside Ierapetra, as we had a car and took frequent excursions in the nearby area (which is stunning!), but also could get to the city within about 10-15 minutes.

This was my second visit to the cottages, and I will definitely be coming back in the future!

My stay was wonderful !!!!! What a family atmosphere and super friendly people ! They assist you in whatever you need ! Mrs Dora's food is sooooo tasty and traditional, can't stop eating . The rooms are spacious and fresh !! Always clean . Bathrooms newly renovated and designed !!! A must go !!!!! :)the area is quiet and with a lovely view , perfect place to relax and rest ! But then again if you have a car ( a must actually) it's easy to explore the beautiful areas around ierapetra . You can discover all the beauties untouched from almost from civilisation

If you like peace and quietness, Nakou Village is the place to be. The appartments do have all you need. It is traditionally decorated and feel cosy. Everything is available: oven, toaster, coffee machine. The restaurant (breakfast & lunch) is good. They give extra attention to the kids (sometimes a free small icecream).

The swimming pool is nice and there are always beds available.

The owners seems to be a bit French orientated (the owner speaks french), but English well enough to understand.

In the village, there are two other nice restaurants as well.

Nakou Village is a basic hotel offering self-catering apartments. It is set on a hill and has stunning views to the sea. The place is very clean, the pool large and well-kept. The apartments themselves are not pretty per se, but they are spacious, clean with large verandas. There are toiletries in the bathroom and the kitchen is equipped with most things for preparing a basic meal. When we arrived there was local raki in the fridge, a bottle of water and local cookies, a kind offering by the owners. There is free wi-fi in the room. The one problem I saw with our stay were the beds, which were very hard and uncomfortable. If you are not picky about it, you may well consider staying there. Also, there is no daily cleaning of the rooms: you have to do it yourself (broom and mop provided). Finally, this is a good place to explore the area, which has some of the best beaches in Crete, and to enjoy the local cuisine, in one of the numerous restaurants nearb, but you definitely need a car!!
