Great villa for a larger group.. This time there were seven adults. Three couples and a single male friend as well. The four guys wanted to do some serious cycling whereas we three ladies wanted to do some serious relaxing and exploring. The men said the cycling was fabulous. The novelty of cycling on such traffic free roads with tough climbs and exhilarating descents. They climbed the equivalent of half way up Everest over the week. Quinta San Antonio is ideal for this kind of holiday as there is so much space. Easy to accommodate four bikes. Washing machine and rotary drier for all the dirty cycling kit and best of all four lovel bathrooms for four sweaty cyclists. Another big advantage is Ruis and his cycle hire shop in Sao Bras. Avalanche Cycle hire can rent road, electric and mountain bikes and will take you on guided rides, provide support and are generally very helpful. Watch out Majorca, you have serious competition here. The pool was lovely and warm and there was so much room to relax. We took advantage of having the lovely Jacinta come in one evening and cook us a fabulous Portuguese three course meal.. We loved it. If we had been a group of ten we would still have had ample space. This is an exceptionally spacious well appointed villa. Two of our party are returning in October with family. We will be back.
We have been before but this time was even better. The pool is fabulous and has been refurbished. The villa is wonderful. So spacious and very comfortable. The location is perfect for us. Close to the coast if we want to visit the beaches but up here in the hills the air is so clear, the scenery is wonderful and for keen cyclists, the rides from the moment you leave the villa are breathtaking along empty roads.
A great selection of restaurants within a short drive from the villa and the option of doing your own BBQ on the terrace, cooking in the large kitchen or taking advantage of a home cooked meal served in the villa. A lovely menu of typical Portuguese dishes to choose from.
There is nothing i can say that has'nt already been said in previous reviews about this beautiful villa. We were a family of 9 with 2 young children, and this villa was nothing but perfect. The pool was pure entertainment for the whole hoilday where the youngest being 3 learnt to swim and swimming full widths by the end of the week. You had a choice of eating outside in the beautiful sunshine or in the warm shade or just simply relaxing on the terrace.
Portuagl was beautiful, people so very friendly. Car is a must and the drive from the airport to villa was under 30mins and in that time you are in a beaitiful rural settings where you truly can relax. We spent most of our time at the villa but if you do want to travel out the beach at Praoia da Coelha is worth a visit.
Justin (owner) was very helpful as we landed early and left late he was able to allow us to check in a little earlier and check out later which was such a huge help, meaning extra time in the fantastic pool and enjoying the rays before heading home. We remain very grateful ,Thank you again.
We would highly recommend this holiday villa, be it for a family or group of friends, its a must. We would love to stay here again.
Wonderful holiday had. Fabulous pool. Absolutely brilliant for the children. Well equipped, lots of space. Extremely well organised and kept.
Would definitely recommend!
We will be booking again in the future.
Sao Bras is a great location. Easy to get to. Fabulous places to visit nearby.
Justin has a fantastic team - Marylu was extremely helpful.
Our first impression of the Quinta san Antonio more than exceeded our expectations, and we grew to love it more each day as we discovered more aspects to the locality and the oportunities it offers.
Our 4 week vacation had many dimensions, 3 generations of children, extended family and long term friends; Quinta san Antonio fulfilled every aspect of our needs. so much so that we have re-booked for next summer!!! What more recommendation do you need than this............
Firstly the pool is stunningly beautiful, the water clear and slight salt, making your skin soft and fresh feeling, views stunning and plenty of sun bathing space all round. Our grand daughter almost swam over a 10 day period; she was just 2!!
The bedrooms are large and roomy, beds comfortable and a very good size (compared to other vvillas we have rented in Portugal) bathrooms roomy and stylish, living areas comfortable and well furnished; summing up, it can accomodate 10 adults very easily. There is even a travel cot for infants
Al fresco dining under the sheltered terrace is perfect and the views beyond amazing
We grew to know ther locality very well, Sao Bras is now a stylish Portugese town with a much improved central square and ambience, the many local restaurants are diverse and each has its own individuality, from 7 euro menus to gormet dining, Within walking distance is a divine coffe shop with the most amazing array of home made cakes and sweets. Just north in the small village of Alportel are 2 local and very Portugese bars serving plates of snails and other such delicacies, one we chanced upon and named the "9 euro bar" simply because a round of 8 drinks cost a total of 9 euros!!! ( a far cry from the 9 euro per drink in Val de Lobo Praca!!!!)
Make sure you go to the historic, stylish and chic Pousada hotel in Estoi, beyond amazingly beautiful, espicially when the jacaranda trees are in bloom.
After 28 days we felt like locals, greeting local bar owners in supermarkets and living the life of rural Portugal, relaxed, laid back and unstressed. However, do NOT come here if Albufeira or Quatiera are your idea of a perfect holiday!!! This is Portugal not Benedorm!!!
