We e-mailed ahead asking for a high room overlooking the pool, and that is what we got, beds a little hard but they provide mattress toppers which were brilliant, The room and the rest of the hotel were spotless, the food was amazing, all the meats and fish were brilliant and always hot, wine and beer on tap, wine very acceptable, couldn't fault this hotel, plenty of sun beds, no need to put your towels out early, wifi a little hit and miss. I wouLdnt hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Having previously stayed at several other RIU hotels you can tell the RIU influence particularly the friendliness of the staff the immaculate grounds and the quality and variety of the food - all meet the RiU standard. With some small changes the hotel could improve e.g. Carafes of water in the main restaurant and also being able to have a cup of tea or coffee after your meal at your table would make a big difference. The gym however needs a total refurb - the equipment was poor and the treadmill dangerous, I raised this several times at reception and in the end gave up, the A/C is inadequate and there was no water. The reviews about the beds were totally accurate. We met some lovely people and had a nice holiday, things would need to change for us to go back.

We had a great week here with very friendly and helpful staff and hands on Management always actively involved, so good to see. Reception, dining room and bar staff really pleasant and efficient. The hotel was very busy 3rd to 10th September lots of young families with children obviously still on holiday, very few British as our schools had gone back. The food was up to the Riu high standard in Main restaurant, Grill and the Asian restaurant had an extremely pleasant atmosphere and very good food. The pool area was very busy so went to the beach most days which is only a few minutes walk where there are a couple of bars/restaurants built on stilts right on the beach. Olhos D'Agua has a few bars, shops, restaurants supermarket just what is needed. On the long beach walked to Vilamoura which took just over 2 hours but was lovely. Got taxi back 0nly 20 Euros. Get room with pool view if possible.

Room Tip: Rooms with pool view

This hotel didn't come up to our expectations for the following reasons. The TVs were very old, the towels were very thin, the teapots seemed to dribble everywhere and they put Coffee pots on the table but if you wanted Tea you had to get a Tea pot, fill it with t and water etc, collect milk and bring back to the table, all this in a very busy area where everyone is getting their food. The food was freshly cooked and always plenty of veg, salad and fruit but it could be a bit repetitive. The Alcohol was awful, nothing tasted good. The wine which was available with your meals was quite good but not very strong. The cappuciano coffees and the Irish Coffees were good. Good points were the amazing Entertainment Team especially Raquel, they worked all day and evening, with sports and games in the day and shows in the evening. The pools were good and everything was kept very clean. The internet which was available for 90 minutes per day in the reception area was very slow.... Overall we had a lovely holiday but didn't measure up to the 5T's it was given.

Just returned from a six night stay and found hotel to be overall very good.
Staff without exception are all friendly and helpful, barmen are amongst the friendliest i have come across in hotels.
Place is kept very clean and cleaners are about before first light around the Hotel.
Food always well presented and good standard, it must be very difficult to please all the people all the time as there are many nationalities staying here.
Drinks are a bit limited but the barmen always try to serve whats requested.
If you are looking for a nice beach type holiday then this place is ideally located, the only slight drawback is the many steps to access the beaches(and return). The nearest is located to the side of the hotel via many wooden steps, this beach is quite small and quiet.
The best beach is located via steps leading down from the Hotel Luna which is just down the road from the Hotel, this is a lovely long sandy beach and goes unobstructed all the way into Vilamora some 2-3 miles east. We did walk all the way in to Vilamora one day which was very enjoyable, if a little tiring.
Beach would be great for families as its pretty safe, got a blue flag, and has lifegards.
Equally if you are looking for a pool based hotel this one has two outdoor and one pretty good indoor pool with sauna steam room etc.Gardens are very well kept also.
Rooms are a good size and bathroom ok. The beds really need replacing or upgrading as even with matress toppers they are very uncomfortable.
Area around is pretty quiet with some restaurants and bars within walking distance.
Albufeira and Vilamora are pretty close either by car, bus or cab.
Would not hesitate to recommend Hotel.

Room Tip: High floors 4 or 5 overlooking pools
