We have spend 3 amazing days in Chios and Hotel Kyma was like a home to us. First of all the couple managing the hotel (Theodore & Guher) were so helpful and friendly. They know Turkish/English/Greek so that they can guide you very well if you ask questions about the island. Theodore created a route on the map for us including famous villages and beaches. This helped us a lot. Hotel has an old Greek architecture which is so authentic. We stayed in a room on the top floor with wonderful sea view. If the weather is not windy, you can bring your drinks to balcony and enjoy the view. Room was clean and we had everything we needed like hair dryer, extra blanket, electronic mosquito repellent etc. I especially liked the shampoo and conditioner with olive oil extract. There is a buffet Breakfast and it is nice to have your breakfast on the tables outside with the sea view. Moreover location of the hotel is very central. It is possible to reach the port by 10 min. walking. Overall, we were very happy about our hotel choice not just because of the hotel's features, also because of the friendly owners who made us feel like we are at our home in Chios...

I contacted Theodore from Hotel Kyma and booked by email. The taxi ride from the airport was €8 and took about 10 minutes.

The hotel is a faded beauty- a former grand old mansion. It's just on the edge of the harbour, separated from the water only by the port road.

Our room was in the old part of the building and had a parquet floor and a very high ceiling. The highlight was the enormous terrace right outside the room, which had a fantastic sea view.

Our rate included breakfast, which was very good. It included a selection of good fresh fruit - grapes, pears, bananas, etc., bread, cereal, cheese and boiled eggs. Theodore made us a Greek coffee too.

The location is good. It's near enough to town that everywhere is within walking distance, but it's a little quieter than the centre. Expect a little road noise.

Theodore was exceptionally helpful - he got us ferry tickets, checked the timetables, told us our ferry was on schedule, etc. He also organised car rental, restaurant recommendation, and our next accommodation. It was like having a concierge service.

Hotel Kyma is an old fashioned place where you will get warm hospitality and a friendly welcome. Highly recommended.

The owner Theodore & his wife were very welcoming and did their utmost to help us we feel at home. An old, historic building with an excellent traditional Turkish breakfast with a limitless tea & coffee. He guides the guests for a daily schedule taking the weather, wind into consideration & helps for a good local restaurant. Me & my family come to this hotel every summer.

This must was probably one of the first grand hotels on Chios. The owner Theo and his lovely Turkish wife were charming and couldn't have been more helpful to us with our tour of the island. Free parking was available nearby on the street. The room was large with a huge old fashioned bath tub, and a great seafront terrace with a great breeze. The lift is a bit small and rickety and we preferred to use the rather grand staircase. Breakfast was good and tea coffee plentiful. Very convenient for the nearby restaurants and for touring. What it lacks in modern facilities it makes up for in its old fashioned charm and beautiful antique furnishings.

Room Tip: Front terrace room

Definitely, we were very comfortable at Hotel Kyma! It is a very nice, historical building at a very good location at the center. I would like to thank Mr. Thedore Kardamyla for his excellent hospitality and guidance during stay our in his hotel. We had the opportunity to have nice conversation with himself and exchange our information about our cultures. We hope to be there again soon! Thank you very much.
