We visited La Marea restaurant this time last year and were not disappointed by going back this year. In fact we went three times it was so good! The first time we had fresh amberjack and it was super fresh! The second time we had an outstanding paella and the third time John Dory which was divine! Lovely service though essential to book.

We have been coming to Playa Santiago for several years but never eaten here. Our mistake! Don't be put off by the pizza signage or its position looking over the carpark as inside is a nicely designed restaurant serving a good range of wonderfully fresh fish at great prices.

We were shown a fresh platter of fish to choose from and opted for the sea bream. No whistles and bells, just grilled and simply served with Gomerian potatoes and a small side salad. Just delicious.

The bill for two starters, one main, water and a glass of nice wine was just €31. Good service too. Recommended.

Have visited this very local restaurant before with friends. Whilst the locals will look to eat the pizza dishes, ask for the fish of the day. You will be shown what’s available and your selection is cooked to order with canarian potatoes and salad. We had the sea bream one evening, it was well cooked and delicate in taste.

Perfect for fish and a lot more. We had dinner twice at this deceptive restaurant, deceptive because Pizza gets too much emphasis on the signage. The fish was superb, medregal one time and another rare local fish the other. The chef clearly has access to the best of the catch from Santiago’s little fishing fleet. That said, one of our party enjoyed an excellent steak (and there was a booming trade in takeout pizzas). Starters, desserts, wines, service and value all rated highly too. Don’t worry about it being a bit noisy and having a view of the car park, it’s the food that you’re going there for.
