We had fish goujons, which were amazing and served with chips and a very small side salad. Calamari which was also delicious and served as above.
and then a very unusual 3rd main.... which was meant to be mine, but I couldn’t eat it. Deep fried aubergine in honey.
I’d originally ordered a chicken salad, but the waiter said we had too many salad items if we were sharing so he advised the aubergine!
This was the furthest thing from what I wanted. It came covered thick in a deep batter, with a sickly sweet sauce of burnt honey... it tasted more like a banana fritter from a Chinese takeaway than a Spanish tapas dish......My husband loved it and so ate mine and most of his dish! I ate a small amount of salad from my husbands & daughters plates and had a snack when I got home. As is the way with tapas, the aubergine was served much later than the other 2 dishes, so most of the fish dishes had been eaten by my ravenous family!!!
Not ideal I know, but we’ll know better next time. I would return here again, but stick to what I wanted and ignore the weird recommendations!
