Our airbnb cancelled at the last minute before we got to Hastings. It was on the coldest weekend of the last 5 years..The Beast From the East cold front that ascended on the uk that week. So we booked into another hotel which was nice but after 2 hours we still had no hot water and not a great heating system. So..we checked out. We hadn't considered Hotel Victoria as was more towards St Leonards and we had to be in Hastings in the morning. But only 15 min walk. So, we rang, told them out budget and the lovely Maggie said she would sort us a nice room. THey did a very similar thing for us 2 years ago.

On arrival we could not believe the room we had. It was a huuge suite with sea views, and just all round amazing! The room was really warm which was surprising considering its so bit and they were'nt expecting us. But I guess that's being professional, keep the rooms warm IN CASE people arrive. I had a hot bath which is what I had wanted for hours. The staff really made us feel welcome and from now on Victoria Hotel will be our first stop. Thanks guys.

Room Tip: All rooms are good but obviously sea ones are great if your ok with a little bit of traffic noise.

Stayed for 3 nights in a Triple Family room with a great Seaview. Were given a room on the top floor as requested. Checkin was fine with friendly staff. Room was big and the third bed was in an alcove. All the beds were comfortable. Heating is electrical and takes a while to heat the room (we were there during a particularly cold spell). It was also very nice having a fridge. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and warm. Staff topped up things at request. A minor thing was that we found that the fried eggs were a bit rubbery and oily. Poached eggs were made to order and were fine. A special mention for Gabrielle who was really exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel building is absolutely beautiful with high ceilings and Victorian features and appears to have been revamped recently. View from the restaurant overlooking the sea is great too. Overall stay was excellent, as was price/quality ratio. All members of staff were courteous and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Upper floor seaview is well worth the extra cost

On arriving on the coldest night of the year i was greeted by a pleasant lady at reception.
However after giving me my room key, no other information was given as to its location in the hotel, and no details given about meals and where to go to have them.
I eventually found the bedroom, which on arrival was freezing cold, and the bathroom was colder than most fridges.
Overall the standard of the room was good with the exception of the horrible smell of fried food and the noise from the kitchen.
I found the piano bar which on arrival had quite pleasant music playing, however after finding a table high enough to eat from the TV in the corner was showing Coronation Street which the group of builders still in their work clothes decided to turn up to drown the sound of the music.I decided then that i would return to my cold room to get some quite time.

The hotel is very clean amazing interior with marble stair case. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food good value, very nice. Room, we had a sea front room at the top of the hotel which was spacious, clean and comfortable. Good view of the sea from the room. Very relaxing holiday. We walked into Hastings and used the bus to travel to Eastbourne which is also a lovely place. Lots of architectural buildings and the old town of Hastings is worth a visit.

Room Tip: Best room with a view top of the hotel at the front. Easily assessable. Large room. Quiet. Easy assessable by lift

We stayed one night as we were attending a wedding close by.. we were allowed to check in early at 12noon to get ready, the room 204 was really big, with a great sea view, dressing area and bathroom.
The room overall was clean, but is tired and needs attention to curtains, bed throw and carpet..
staff were very polite and attentive.
We would definitely stay again..
