I took my partner here for a week in Dec 2023. We got very lucky to be put in an ocean view room a stones throw from the beach. Funnily enough we arrived to see someone complaining they didn’t have the ocean view room they wanted. The room location could not have been better for us.

The beach is beautiful and extensive. I didn’t like that there’s a drainage canal running through the hotel out to sea.. after heavy rainful you could clearly smell the sewage from it.

The staff in the hotel were a mixture of lovely and depressing. The gardeners, cleaners and pool bar staff were the best.

Something has to be said about the hotel gardens which were amazingly well kept. Maybe the downside is that there were a lot of biting bugs feasting on us the whole time.

We took a hired car to the peak of a hill to meet some monkeys. The roads to the top were not for the feint hearted but it was worth it.

Food at the hotel was great and fairly priced. The breakfast buffet was nicely civilised and efficient.

The room was decent, well equipped with a spacious walk in shower. The TV could only get a couple of English channels and reception was choppy.

The pool was clean and warm with waterfalls and wrapping around a bar.

During our stay the hotel was really quiet. We came for a peaceful break so that was great but maybe it did need a bit more life. Two nights had evening entertainment but the rest of the time there was nothing on. We had to ask the staff to play some music during dinner sometimes as it got too dead.

The weather was a mix of sunny, overcast and showery days. Each day it cleared by sunset which was nice.

Overall we had a great time. The location of the hotel is perfect and it has so many little touches to make it stand out. I recommend the hotel work on the staff morale though.
