BOOKED!!!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 9 Mar 2024
This place was so relaxing and peaceful. Everyone was great, but DYLAN and AKIM were my favorites. They checked on me to make sure I was good since I took a solo trip, told me places to go visit while I was there….** PLEASE MAKE SURE TOO TAKE DYLAN DANCE CLASS🔥🔥 him and Akim are like that, they can really dance. 😂 **
Moses and Matthew were great as well and my taxi drive Chris was really cool! … The whole staff was great, but these people really stood out to me!!! So when you booked be sure to TAKE DYLAN DANCE CLASS, and be prepared to have an experience of your life.❤️🇬🇩

This hotel is nothing special…Very much a conference/tourist sterile place.
However, it is on THE most gorgeous white sand beach with good snorkeling.
I have to say I would stay again. Room was perfectly comfortable…Nice view of
sea….The beach is just gorgeous and the two/three pools are also quite nice.
The food is only so-so. We were there for only two nights.
The only other odd thing is there is a GIANT Samsung TV in the room and it advertises itself
as a “Samsung Hotel”…whatever that means…but on the giant TV, there is not a single movie to watch….
nothing…literally a few local shows and that’s it. Kind of ridiculous.

The beginning of my stay wasn't the greatest. However, the General Manager and the management staff did what was right towards the end. The location, resort grounds, and beach were amazing. There was a local supermarket right outside the resort, which made it convenient to buy wine, beer, and snacks. I wish I had reached out to the tour desk earlier. Charmaine @ Insight Tours Grenada was an amazing help in ensuring that my last day in Grenada was memorable. She was very responsive and knowledgeable. She recommended that I take the snorkel tour, which was amazing. I would definitely do it again. Definitely reach out to her ahead of time to plan your tours.

Room tip: Dining options could be better. I was expecting local Grenadian food.

Exceptional! The new general manager was amazing.- he walked the resort several times a day ensuring a fantastic guest experience. The ground are beautifully appointed, lush, immaculately maintained, and the pools are stunning. Located right on the beach, which has the whitest sand, most blue water, and picturesque background of the country side. Close to the grocery store and airport. Staff could be a bit friendly yet, but many were very helpful and customer service friendly. We would recommend for sure, and plan to be back next year!

We loved the location in a garden setting right on the beach. The whole area is surprisingly low rise and undeveloped where you shelter under tress on the beach rather than rows of umbrellas

The hotel is perhaps a little dated but the room cleaning was impeccable . Very poor shower with little if any hot water

Staff, all local were charming in every way

The only downside is the poor American food with no starters or deserts or steaks on offer. Overpriced and disappointing breakfast buffet.Room has kettle, fridge and coffee maker so we did supplement from local shops

Check in was easy. 15 minutes and we were done. Like that there is juice and cucumber water for guests there as well. Interesting note, we only saw the Juice offered on Monday as we kept looking for it to get more 😅

Something to remember: All prices on the resort are in Eastern Caribbean Dollars, NOT USD. EC Dollars are basically 1/3 of a USD (I think it is 0.35). This is why prices seem high. Just divide by 3 and you'll have a good idea how much things cost👍🏼

The room is nice although there are some minor signs of wear and tear on some of the wood furniture, nothing major though. The room was clean and moderately updated. The beds were comfortable. The sliding doors to the closet were hard to open and close...kind of wonky, but again, not a serious deal. The bathroom has plenty of towels and bath amenities. No tub, tiled shower only. Hot (ours got H O T!) and cold water worked fine in the faucet. Flushing the toilet, you need to hold the flusher down until everything goes down.

Dinner at the sunset bar on our first night was good. After finding a seat, a waitress came over after a few minutes with menus. Food took about 30 minutes after we ordered. I understand it is Caribbean time on Grenada so I figured it would be a little bit of time. We all liked our food, Bacon cheeseburger, chana masala, kids hot dog, and fries. The chana was the best.

Tradewinds Breakfast Buffet:

We were seated promptly. Sharon came to our table to offer coffee/tea. The buffet has lots of options, both 'Ametican' and Caribbean. Nutmeg syrup! Omelet station!

The waterfalls wraparound pool is great. A lady came to ask if we wanted drinks. Towel lady was pleasant (not like other reviews). Hot (more like warm) tub atop the waterfall is nice with a great view of the pool and gardens.

Room service took about 30 minutes for lunch on our second day and the food was still hot/warm for us.

Wednesday morning I headed to reception to get my cab to Grenada Golf Club. I asked for one the previous night to be available at 8 AM. There wasn't one available as ms there were a lot of people leaving to do different things that morning. Oh well, not a big deal. I asked for a cab to the golf club and one arrived within 10 minutes.

This afternoon, we finally made it to the beach right outside the hotel. Thankfully, it was easy to find loungers and bring them over the fence right under a sea grape tree so we were nice and shaded for laying out. The beach is public so locals may come by to ask for hair braiding or to buy jewelry but a simple no thank you and they'll be on their way. No high-pressure situations. The beach and water are fantastic, light waves and an amazing view. the multiple sea grape trees along the beach make umbrellas less than absolutely necessary. That's a win for sure!

Thursday we got to breakfast around 9:00 AM. I strongly suggest getting to the breakfast buffet earlier rather than later. The later it is, the more crowded the buffet is, the longer the lines get, and the servers get a bit overwhelmed, leading to more delays in service. Mind you, the delays aren't too bad, I just noticed a delay from when we arrived around 7 or 8 AM earlier in the week, and when we arrived at 9:00 AM. On the bright side, there were cinnamon buns and Caillou (Caribbean greens) today at the buffet! I LOVE CAILLOU ❤️

Our daughter was a bit sickie today so we didn't do a lot. My son and I walked around the the grounds, which are very pretty and well-maintained. We had room service for lunch and dinner. The food again, took around 30 minutes each time.

Overall Impression: The Radisson Grenada Beach Resort is a nice place to stay. It is not a 4 star property, but is a solid 3 star in my opinion. The food is absolutely not as bad as some reviews make it out to be. There are varied things to eat and nothing that we had this week was inedible. All of our interactions with staff members, from front desk, to housekeeping, to landscaping, to wait staff were positive. This is a Caribbean island so 'island time' is a real thing, but it never felt like it impacted out vacation experience. All in all we had a nice vacation and are pleased with the service we received at the Radisson Grenada Beach Resort and would consider staying there again:)

Excursion:

We did do a Sunset Champagne 3-Hour Cruise with Corsair Sailing Charters and Experiences. Let me tell you, they have great reviews and ratings for a reason. They sail from the pier right by the Radisson.... it is literally a four-minute walk from the Radisson on the beach. A small boat will ferry you to the sailing ship. The ship has four awesome dogs on board👍🏼 Drinks are included (beer, wine, liquor) as is a Champagne toast at sunset. The ship takes you up and down the western coast of the island. The crew are friendly, the included appetizers are varied and delicious. The sunset is magnificant! This was easily a highlight of our trip to Grenada.

Some Assorted notes:

The ice maker in our building did not work, but we found one in another building close to us.

There isn't an ATM on site, but there is a bank right across the street.

The grounds are gorgeous for the most part and are all maintained.

There are both British and American outlets in the rooms, so you don't need to bring an adapter if you are from the States.

Our building didn't have an elevator, so if you have mobility issues, make sure you get a 1st floor room.

One thing I'll say, a friendly smile and demeanor will go a long way toward people being helpful. I've seen a lot of reviews saying everyone is miserable or surly. We haven't found that to be the case at all. People may not be falling all over themselves to help your every whim, every time to come into sight, but every interaction we have had was positive.

Room tip: Island Time is a real thing. Relax and enjoy your time on vacation. There aren't a lot of activities happening on the resort.
