Wonderful location and right on the Beach. Whats not to love! Stayed 7 days . The main pool and grounds were beautifully landscaped and thought the resort clean and safe. Housekeeping was spot on for us and yes the rooms are tired , but the bed was comfortable. Only issue was with the hot water in the morning for our shower. (After running the hot water for 20 minutes and sitting outside with our room coffee, the water was still not hot. ) Received the buffet breakfast early every morning at 6:30 and there was no line. No problem with selection offered, only issue was with the coffee delivery which was slow to come around. (There was no 24 hour coffee at the hotel and earliest offering was around 6:30 anyway.) Intended to eat lunch and dinner elsewhere but honestly not a lot of good selection of places if you wanted variety within walking distance. Ended up eating late lunches a few times instead of dinner at the Raddison. Food was good but service very slow despite the restaurant not being busy. Appeared understaffed as same person was working the pool bar and delivering drinks and food to people around the pool as well as waiting on us. (Poor food customer service though , did not appear to be specific to the Radisson in our experience on the island for the week) The concierge was a representative of Insight tours and the two tours we took with them were excellent. The front desk staff were fine, but were often so busy checking people in and out , that you had to wait if you needed to ask them for anything else. (Lobby was a little small to accomodate all the people.) The vacation for me was an excellent runaway to paradise! Not 5 star but was an excellent value for what was paid.

This was our 4th stay. On our previous stays we have always been put in rooms very close to the bar. Last time we stayed we asked to be moved as we had a 7 month baby, but was told it was not possible, and we had a very sleepless 10 days. This stay we emailed and called when we first booked our room and again the week leading up to our stay to ensure we wouldn't be placed right next to the bar. Guess what? We were allocated a room right next door - you could hear the music and chatter as clearly as if you were sat in the bar itself. We went back to reception and complained. We spoke to 4 different people who sullenly said we couldn't be moved as the whole resort was full, but having travelled for 14 hours and with a young child we insisted, and they magically managed to move us.

However, the room they moved us too was right next to a local couple who played loud garage and reggae music all day and all night and smoked weed in their room. So it was actually worse! But by this point they sad there was nowhere else to go and I didn't have the energy to fight. As we had an interconnecting door it wafted into our room. I complained many times, but it carried on until the couple left. I think they were dealing as they were constantly on the phone telling other locals their room number, and there were constantly people coming up off the beach, popping into their room, and then heading back down to the beach.

The standards have dropped massively since our last stay. The smaller pool is worn and tired. The food is all deep fried and bland, or mediocre pizzas and sad-looking salads drowning in dressing. The kids ordered chicken nuggets one evening and got breaded dark fish! Which got rejected). Breakfast was disappointing (and to top it off, we were told breakfast was included in our room - but then got charged for our child at checkout - despite definitely having been told that he ate for free. But they just denied this over and over and insisted on charging us. He literally ate a banana and a muffin a few mornings). The bars were constantly out of ice or key ingredients for various cocktails. The service was dire, whether at the bar, restaurants and especially reception.

Our room STANK. It was musty and damp (with wafts of weed coming in from our neighbours).

The communal areas could do with a lick of paint and none of the ice-machines were working, which just made it feel like a rundown motel.

The location, however, is excellent and there are fun bars and other restaurants you can eat at and drink at to avoid the over-priced, often inedible and cold food at the hotel.

It was NOT the relaxing family holiday we hoped and this was our 4th, and definitely final, stay.

Just back from a fantastic 2 week stay at this hotel and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We were checked in and at our room in 5 minutes and even got a welcome drink on arrival. The room allocated to us had a lovely sea view and was on a high floor just like we requested with a king size bed. The gardens are immaculate and so well looked after by the garden maintenance team who are always working each day. The cleaner did a amazing job of cleaning our room 226 on a daily basis as did the other cleaning team who kept all the corridors and public areas spotless. Everyone we met in the hotel that worked was so friendly and we always saw the manager walking around the hotel engaging with staff and customers. We went to the managers cocktail party on the second week which was great and gave us a chance to give positive feedback to all the heads of departments which we did as their are so many people which just moan and complain all the time. The food and drink was all great in the hotel and we had many meals out as well as it is so close to many restaurants. The location is a amazing right on the best beach as well as having fantastic swimming pools. The hotel really did exceed our exception as i had read some negative reviews on here but i can tell you in our 2 weeks staying at this hotel we have nothing negative to say about it and only positive feedback in every kind of way. Well done and keep us the great work. Also the hotel Taxis are great we used Irvin most days to get out and about who is really friendly and helpful.
