The location of this hotel is perfect - the hotel isn’t.
Hotel check was very slow - hotel rooms overlooked the stunning beach. As only one of our rooms were ready we were shown to it, The bellhop explained how things worked in the room.
The pool and grounds looked lovely.
After a drink at the popular Esther’s we returned to the hotel to get the second. After further inspection the first room did not smell very good and the draws had black mould so another room was offered . The rooms are very dated and unappealing- although the air conditioning is very modern.
We had breakfast included which was fine - fruit choices could do with expanding. The other problem was the birds - they land on the food - both inside and outside the restaurant. We did try to eat at the pool bar - waited 90 minutes for food which was lukewarm (discovered it had been sat behind the bar for about 30 minutes) and we left it.
We had a problem with wine at the pool bar, both red and white. They have a few wines on the list but they actually only have 1 white and 1 red off that list.
We did approach the manager at the Managers cocktail party who blamed everyone else - we can only say he needs re training in our opinion.
A major issue for us was sunbeds on the beach. We were under a tree next to the hotel fence and found the security and pool attendant selling the sunbeds to the cruise passengers. Despite another very disgruntled client of the hotel complaining to management about this (and they did appear to talk to their team) it carried on. They also sold the WiFi code to the cruise passengers ( they were right next to us and we heard everything being said). We would also strongly recommend that your security team/ pool attendants who seem to gather in a noisy group at the fence need to be told to watch their language, some of was not appropriate
We are disappointed in having to write such negative comments. We did a lot of research and loved the location of this hotel and thought the hotel would be so much better than it was.
Plus side - pool and grounds were lovely, most staff were friendly and courteous

I had a very unsatisfactory check in experience. Arriving an hour after the 3pm check in time, my room was not ready. It was suggested I could have lunch (at 4pm!) or go to the bar for a drink - which I did at my own expense. I waited an hour and 45 minutes and was not contacted in the bar as promised. There was no apology for any of this. When my room was eventually ready, the porter pointed me in the right direction but left me to drag my suitcase up the stairs on my own.

The hotel is nice and staff are very friendly, particularly Akim who managed to help us out a lot and went above and beyond.

Will definitely be back sooner than ever and looking forward to the dance lessons from Akim!! But also to further explore this amazing Hotel.

Staff are unhappy (no smiles) and were not concerned with guest experience. The check in/out process was slow and many people had their cards keyed incorrectly. Amenities were in a state of disrepair (lights/furniture). Stunning beach though.

Staff is uninformed or just not helpful. They claim to have a “ tour and activity “ desk , however it is rarely manned and no activities are available. If you wanted a tour or activity outside the hotel, they would not be helpful.
Room was moldy, it was independence week and lots of celebrations. The hotel sits on a public beach next to a public park where all the LOUD, exceptionally LOUD bass of the Music penetrated your room, the pools outside, the outdoor dining… to all hours
You get the picture… wanted to off myself

The resort feels like it was the best place on the island about 35 years ago but it has not been well maintained or updated since.

While the common grounds and pools are lovely, the rooms are not well maintained. The bathroom had a faint foul odor that was worse if you left the door closed overnight. The water pressure was very poor and the water temperature was never hotter than tepid, mostly it was cool. The elevator was not working for a half day during a two night stay. There are also many outdoor spaces that aren't utilized, making it feel like they don't have the traffic or staff to justify making use of all of the facility.

The (included) breakfast buffet was very good, but the lunch and dinner menus were dull and food was just okay. Consider walking south down the beach to Umbrellas for better food and a fun atmosphere.

The beach is awesome but getting around the white fence that encloses the resort was not intuitive. There is one small unlocked gate that isn't marked, while the other 2 gates were locked 24/7.

Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, but there were a few that were surly. The towel woman was pretty grim. Bartenders were slow but drinks were done well.
