We’ve just returned from a 7 night stay at Tongsai Bay and it was beautiful. We were upgraded to a beach front villa with private pool and it was so relaxing after a busy time sightseeing the previous week. Lovely spacious villa, spotlessly cleaned every day. Staff even visited each afternoon with snacks, chocolate brownies, sandwiches, cakes etc!

Staff are extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. Lovely daily chats with Nop and Krit and other staff who made sure every guest was cared for.

Food was really good. Breakfast, dinner at Butlers for a birthday treat and the pool bar, which was really good value for a hotel. Lovely cakes presented for a birthday celebration, along with chocolates and bubbly!

We made use of the kayaks and paddle boards on a few occasions and the sea was lovely for a swim. The sand is quite coarse so beach shoes are ideal and the rocks on both sides are sharp. There are signs on the notice boards to make visitors aware but take care around these areas. We slipped and cut our hands but staff were brilliant dealing with the first aid treatment we needed.

The hotel is a little isolated and they offer a private taxi service which you charge to your room. We did walk into the local town one day but it’s really dark on a night and drivers can be quite erratic at times. We visited fisherman’s village on three nights and there is an abundance of restaurants to suit all tastes. We ate at Nirvana (Thai) which was really good, coco tams (Italian) which was overrated for food but a good atmosphere and the shack (steakhouse)which was amazing and well worth a visit.

The owner of Tongsai Bay was actually at the hotel for a few days as they are looking to make some upgrades to some areas. The whole ecological, environmental ambition started 30 years ago by his father is still going strong today and this is shown throughout the hotel and grounds.

If you want a relaxing holiday where you are looked after by amazing staff then we would definitely recommend Tongsai Bay.

My wife and I had 3 nights during our honeymoon in paradise at Tongsai Bay. We had an ocean-view room, which had a deep-bath tub outside, where we got to see the lunar eclipse!!

The resort is a true 5-star resort. The breakfast is amazing, from dim sum to eggs Benedict, custom-smoothies to iced coffee, it was a great way to start out the day. There are two main pools and a private beach with free non-motorized equipment to use (sea kayaks, sailboats, etc.). Lounge chairs are everywhere, and the attendants will set up your chair with iced water, long towels to lay on and an extra to dry off when you go for a dip. They have a 50% off happy hour.

One pool is massive, but we typically spent our pool time at the half-moon pool, which is adults only and was pretty much secluded the entire time; perfect for reading a book and then dipping into the water.

We stayed at room 206, which is decently far away from the main lobby/breakfast (15 minute walk), but you only need to dial '0' to request a golf-cart to pick you up.

The resort is a $10 cab ride from Bophut/Fisherman's village, as well as the airport when you are forced to leave :(. We went to town most nights for shopping/dinner/entertainment, although the resort has dinner plans if you don't want to leave.

Room Tip: Ocean view with a tub are quieter/more secluded.

What a great stay at Tongsai Bay, the resort is so beautiful and secluded. It has everything for a wonderful relaxing holiday. The resort was reasonably quiet as we are off season which we preferred. The staff are fantastic, very helpful and friendly and always greet you with a smile. There were 2 male staff members I’d say were an exception to this, they seemed driven by getting tips and would fawn over the very wealthy ignoring everyone else, this was embarrassing and is a shame for the hotel that these staff are employed, I’m sure the hotel know who they are. The pools were beautiful and relaxing and the pool staff were great at topping up drinks and looking after the guests. There are taxi services to all the main local areas - chaweng, bophut and choeng mon. Choeng mon beach and all the bars restaurant are walkable easily within 10 minutes which we did two or three times (get a backy from the hotel to the gates though as the hill from the hotel is hard work in the heat). All the areas merit a visit from the hotel to provide a more authentic Thai experience. The hotel got top marks from us though after the way they responded when my wife suffered from bad mosquito bites, they offered us free travel too and from the hospital whenever we needed it, this provided relief in what was a quite worrying time, these are the extra special touches that make a hotel great. The food at the restaurants was excellent and we loved the breakfasts and the view from the restaurant is fabulously framed. An amazing hotel and an amazing holiday. Get up for the sunrises at 5.30am, it’s well worth it!!!!!

We have just returned from the Tongsai Bay hotel in Ko Samui, and stayed at 118 and 119 on the second floor facing the beach. Beautiful views, fabulous rooms. There was a spacious bathroom, our room had a four poster bed with mosquito nets, there was a corner sofa that could have been converted into further sleeping quarters, and a balcony with a bath, two sunbeams and a table and chairs. Very spacious, clean accommodation. The site is quite hilly but the hotel provides buggies for no charge so you can go up and down the hills. The hotel is very luxurious, staff are wonderful, although fishermans village is a taxi ride some 15 minutes away, if you walk literally seven minutes from the front of the resort sign, you will come to local shops bars and restaurants. To be recommended locally to eat, Mr Eung and Mothers restaurant, literally seven minutes walk from the roadsigns of the resort were fantastic, and both come with high trip adviser ratings.

The rooms were generously sized and always clean and tidy. What make the hotel a five, is the staff; they really cannot do enough for you.

Myself, partner and two daughters had a superb time here and this will be the only place i will stay in the future when we return to Thailand.

If you are planning to have some tailoring, ask reception to contact "Don" who will pick you up from the hotel.

Cannot recommend this hotel enough! suffice to say we miss the staff and you can be sure that you will have a very pleasant experience here.
