We have stayed multiple times in this beautiful house directly overlooking the lovely Cher river. Each time has been wonderful, improving each time. The house is beautiful, a typical very nice bourgeois house of the 19th C. It is quite spacious with high ceilings. The decor is lovely and quite appropriate to the era of the house. That is to say that it is more period than up-to-date today. However, it has the expected amenities and conveniences of today such as dishwasher, lovely gas stove, etc. There is an enclosed courtyard for parking the car, so it is very secure. The proprietors are extremely nice and are present onsite but never overbearing or intrusive. You'll never see them or be aware of them unless you need something. Then Alan is very accommodating and will make sure that your needs are addressed. I highly recommend this house for anyone who wants a spacious and comfortable house as a base to explore the Loire castles and the very nice zoo at St. Aignan. The lovely wines, both red and white, of the area are well worth getting to know, as well as the nice local goat cheeses which are available at eh excellent fromagerie in town. Also, do not miss the ancient frescoes of the church in the center of town.

My wife and I rented this lovely home for a week in April and used as our base for exploration in the Loire. Alan is very helpful, the pictures really don't do this place justice. We experienced no problems and were very pleased with the comfort of the bed. Everything necessary is within walking distance and the locals very friendly. All-in-all, we were glad we stayed in Saint Aignon as opposed to Amboise. Larry & Kelly, Georgetown,TX
