My family and I recently stayed in Saddlers cottage for the celebration of my fathers 60th birthday with the cottage and area providing the perfect area for a peaceful weekend away. After arriving on the Friday, we had a peaceful night in using the cards, board games and television provided. The Saturday was spent near by at Symonds Yats Rock which was only a short drive away from the cottage, then we headed to a local Cider mill to taste cider and watch llama's. Both activities were recommended by the leaflet's provided within the cottage. Saturday night was spent using the provided BBQ's and enjoying a lovely sunny evening on the benches outside. Sunday morning, my father, sister and I went on a walk into the forest using the gate near the car park. It was a lovely way to start the day and end the trip for the majority of us. We all headed for a near by Toby Carvery for a lovely Sunday lunch before my father and step mother headed back to the cottage for a night alone.
A knife sharpener or a steal would have been handy for my family though, as even though we were away we are a family of cooking lovers so the standard of knives were not quite as useful as they could have been.
Overall, a very nice and relaxing weekend with everything that you could need being provided.More
