I travelled through northern Tanzania for three weeks and stayed here for three nights, everything was perfect! Best breakfast, lovely dinner and afternoon coffee/tea with snacks and you can choose from many things and enjoy how much you want- oh my god i miss it :) When staying around Usambaras again, I will definitely come back to this place. Spotless clean room, Sabine and her team are great hosts! The area can be easily explored on your own. Room was so cozy for me.

Kanaani is caring, friendly, clean, safe and comfortable. It is not luxurious but more than adequate for what I need and is great value for money. You can also take Swahili lessons there as well. The food is a winner and served buffet style. You will not be disappointed. Ring the taxi driver Gideon on +255 65 551 2939 and he will meet you at the bus station and take you to Kanaani.

And yes, Kanaani Resthouse is located in the part of town called “Kialilo” which is fairly above downtown level and a bit apart from the busy and noisy city center. The location of our hotel rewards with a magnificent view of the mountains and a part of village life.
Having arrived by bus you want to take a taxi for heading there. Taxis are waiting for you directly at the bus stand and you get them for little money – we will give you the current rates if you ask in advance. The taxi ride takes less than ten minutes. If you want to walk downtown afoot you will need about 20 minutes.
We enjoyed our days at the Kanaani Resthouse a lot! The view is wondeful and the nice atmosphere makes you feel very comfortable. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and big and I want to recommend the fresh food! :) Everyday they prepare excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner. You won´t miss anything.

Not my first time at Kanaani - and hopefullly not my last! This is a professionally run guesthouse which clearly cares about its guests. Clean and comfortable without being over-indulgent, great buffet-style food, friendly and caring staff and management, and the company of like-minded travellers - I wanted for nothing at Kanaani. Cost is about $22 per day, single room, and includes accommodation, breakfast and dinner. Wonderful value for money. Asante sana Sabine na wtu wa kazi.
