The villa is in a great location just through a lane beside the entrance to Valle do Garro. The main reception for Dunas Douradas is really close by and has a mini market and banklink machine. The villa had a nespresso machine and also a hairdryer neither of which are listed on the website when booking but we got plenty of use out of both of these items and were delighted to have them. The living room furniture and the dining room table have been updated to a white leather corner sofa and a circular glass table with white leather chairs so when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised and it looked much better than the website photos which showed a blue sofa with wooden table. Margarida the owner was very helpful she met us on arrival and also stopped by during our stay to see if we needed anything. The area felt very safe and it was less than a 10 minute walk to the beach and Julia's.
The back garden and pool area were the highlights for us. The garden is not overlooked and has a lovely view with some undeveloped land behind it. It was very peaceful and lovely to sit out in the evening with a glass of wine listening to the birds .
If there was one thing we would recommend it would be to fit a new shower curtain upstairs as it could do with updating. Overall the villa is well kitted out with a microwave, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, barbecue and plenty of hot water at all times. We enjoyed our stay and hopefully will book again for next year.
We were a family of 4 and stayed for a week and a half at end of July into early August.
The villa is roomier than the website photos portray, and it's tucked away in a quiet corner of the Dunas Douradas resort. It's a 15 minute walk to the popular beach, and only a few minutes walk to the resort's reception, restaurants and pool so an ideal location.
The villa itself was very clean, had comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. The pool and garden area were lovely. The decor was dated but gave a quaint feel, though all the curtains were fiddly to handle being on elastic ropes instead of proper railings. Having quiet and working a/c in both bedrooms and the living areas was a boon.
The kitchen was a nice size, and despite the fridge being in an awkward position right behind the kitchen door, offered all mod-cons to include a dishwasher as well.
The owner was very friendly and approachable; the maid and pool service arrived as scheduled. Lots of info in a handy guest welcome-book too.
Overall quite a nice villa to stay in, great location, although it could do with a refresh.
We are a family of 4 who have rented many villa's. This was our 1st time to rent in Portugal. We had been given recommendations as to where to stay.
When we arrived we got slightly lost however i telephoned the number i was given and they managed to direct us no problem. The owner Margarida was in the Villa to greet us.
The Villa was exactly the way it look in the photos. what i would say is that it could probably do with a little updating. The kitchen and bathrooms are a little tired looking, however it was well equipped and what we were expecting.
The pool area and garden were lovely. The pool was clean and the garden well maintained.
We had a problem with one of the toilets, however the problem was resolved very quickly.
the location was great too. You have access to the local shared pool which was good for the children to mix with other kids.
There was also a restaurant and sports bar at the shared pool.
The beach is walking distance and plenty places to eat there, however you do need to book in advance!
Overall we had a great holiday and would recommend this villa to friends.
