My Husband and I have recently returned from a visit to Leissigen in Switzerland staying at the Hotel Kreuz. This was our first visit to Switzerland, but hopefully not our last! We had a wonderful time. The Hotel is lovely. We had a nice room overlooking Lake Thun. We travelled with Shearings. The staff at the Hotel couldn't do enough for us. Our room was clean and comfortable. Clean towels every day. Good food with second helpings if wanted, I am Coeliac and they went to a lot of trouble to make sure I had the correct Gluten Free food. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this small family run hotel. It is fair to say that the rooms are a little time worn; that said, the friendly welcome and excellent service provided by Hans, Lisa, and their team more than compensated for that. The dining experience was memorable in that I enjoyed every meal that was served, and was always offered seconds! I particularly enjoyed the fish, caught from the lake below the hotel. The lake itself, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, provides calming views from the dining room windows. The village of Leissigen is very quiet, but has a well-stocked shop, close to the hotel, providing much of what a tourist may require. Also nearby is a railway station with regular services into Interlaken, Spiez, and Thun with connections serving the region and the mountain railways - so whether you would like to visit Basel or go the the top of the Jungfrau there is a readily available service.

Hotel is run by a small staff but each of them is super professional and efficient in what they do. Special requests for kid food were entertained with the best they could do for us. The view from room and restaurant of the lake and the cozy little village is a treat to eyes. Just wish that the rooms could be a little bigger
