I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this small family run hotel. It is fair to say that the rooms are a little time worn; that said, the friendly welcome and excellent service provided by Hans, Lisa, and their team more than compensated for that. The dining experience was memorable in that I enjoyed every meal that was served, and was always offered seconds! I particularly enjoyed the fish, caught from the lake below the hotel. The lake itself, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, provides calming views from the dining room windows. The village of Leissigen is very quiet, but has a well-stocked shop, close to the hotel, providing much of what a tourist may require. Also nearby is a railway station with regular services into Interlaken, Spiez, and Thun with connections serving the region and the mountain railways - so whether you would like to visit Basel or go the the top of the Jungfrau there is a readily available service.
