Stunning bridge engineering and walk across. Not for the faint of heart. We did not have this bridge on our agenda but saw it from across the lake while in Spiez and what a sight! It was towering across two land masses and after some researching we saw it was in Sigriswl. We were staying in Interlaken for the weekend so adding this experience was easy to do. We drove and parked at the top in Sigriswil, there was ample parking right next to the bridge. Many people hiked up to it too. It's a long bridge and the sides are high up so if you have a little one, it's very secure. Even my 5 year old could not see above the top sides but there were peep holes for the kids to look out. Such a cool experience and it was only 8 CHF per adult - kids free! The view across the lake was stunning too! Wow!

OK, so it costs 8CHF. Decide either to pay this and get on with it, or circulate round the gorge and admire this structure from a variety of angles for free. If you walk round the gorge to the other end (Aeschlen)you could even experience the bridge or part of it without paying (although you won´t be able to fully cross it).

We chose to pay (hey, it´s only money) to get the full experience on the most beautiful of days and walk across the bridge, as we were on a walk to Oberhofen (with its pretty castle by the lake). This is a good option for a fairly undemanding walk of about 5km which is easily made into a round trip using the regular public transport to and from Gunten (below Sigriswil). The bridge is a structural marvel with lovely views over the Thun lake. It´s not the only place where you get great views, so it is an individual choice whether to pay to go across or not.

We spent about 20 minutes on the Bridge taking pictures as we were hiking across Switzerland. The views were very good, and as it was early in the morning there were only a couple other people visiting so it was not busy. The bridge does wobble when people walk on it, and can be a bit uncomfortable if yoh are afraid of heights.

8 francs per person seems a little steep for pricing, glad we had the local visitor card that got us half price entry.

This ended up being a once in a lifetime experience. The view of the Drei Schwestern was breathtaking and to be able to see into the valleys below was stunning. The railroad ride up was enjoyable. I highly recommend anyone who is in the Interlaken area to take care of this opportunity.

For 8 franks each you get a great view of Lake Thun, from the road it's free. Skip this rip off it's not worth it.
