Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

A great base in the Wye valley
We had a very comfortable stay here. The coach house has everything you need and Doug and Nikki are very helpful and friendly - we had beans from their garden and our girls got to meet their horses. We had a few dips in the pool which our daughters enjoyed. The location was great for exploring the Wye Valley with everywhere we wanted to visit being a short drive. Particular thanks to Doug for posting something we have left behind - very kind.

Calm and beautiful
The area was fantastic, quiet, serene, and within a moment's walk from beautiful vistas and enchanting forests. The owners were friendly and helpful, but allowed us to just be ourselves in the peaceful woods.

A piece of heaven
We were looking for a few days of peace and quiet. Chose this coach house based on location and flexibility offered by owners for booking. Doug answered all my questions promptly. Nikki was very friendly and welcoming. It’s situated right next to the Forest of Dean. Easy to get to Monmouth, Coleford, Gloucester. The house itself is within their own beautifully landscaped gardens. Every amenity and comfort was carefully provided. It ticked every box and fulfilled more than our expectations. I could go on forever! Suffice to say we recommend it to anyone looking for some R n R.

Super stay - clean, comfortable and nothing to want for.
Enjoyed a four night stay here with friends over the early May Bank Holiday. Doug was very efficient, friendly and helpful throughout the build up and the stay itself. The accommodation was very clean, warm and comfortable. The kitchen is a little cosy but has everything you need to self cater. The Coach House sits in the grounds of Doug’s home and he kindly allowed us to use his tennis court, wander through the gardens and use the barbecue and garden chairs/table. Parking is on site. Beds comfy. Lounge with TV and DVD player. Lots of books on local walks and attractions. A thoroughly enjoyable stay and super host. Thank you.

It was lovely having Norma, Heather and Gordon with us this week and I am sure the weather helped them enjoy their stay - in fact it seems that Heather and Gordon may even buy a property near here! We look forward to welcoming them back.

WOW
Not visited this area before, but had read up about it and thought there would be plenty to do with a 12 and 15 year old. I was not disappointed, infact we didn't do as many of the activities close to the accommodation, as intended, as it was such a lovely place to relax and chill out. The kids played tennis and got to use the outdoor pool 3 times during our stay, much to our surprise as we usually have such bad weather, too cold for me to go in though. The property was beautiful, with great attention to detail, and the views from the upstairs lounge were amazing. We all gave the property 10 out of 10, as it was so comfortable and clean. The owners were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble, needless to say we would all like to return in the future.

A delightful house nestled amidst a glorious setting - just perfect.
The Buckstone House Coach House is a privilege to stay in. We felt immediately welcome, with a personal greeting from Douglas (the owner) and wine, milk, eggs, and bread awaiting us. The house's charming layout is full of personality with plush furnishings, interesting antiques, and little loving touches peppered throughout - not to mention the views beyond. Both levels of the house are clean and cosy, the comfortable lounge and dining area being perfect for a social/family getaway whilst allowing guests privacy with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We easily found maps and a great deal of useful information about the area in the kitchen and living room, ensuring that we were easily able to find our way around the Forest of Dean. The local pub - The White Horse - is just down the road and serves great food and local beers, with the bonus of an open fire and a friendly dog. Our stay was extremely peaceful and relaxing, thanks to Douglas' attention to detail in this high-quality accommodation. We would love to come back in the warmer months to test the pool and the tennis court. Thank you again, Douglas, for the wonderful reception.
