Our 3rd dat in Alba having had 2 meals previous 2 days in top rated eateries, David's is the best. We had truffle tasting menuu at€l €75 plus extra for truffle plus wine pairing for 4, an absolute steal for value. All dishes were excellent with henerous truffle shavings- wild duck breast 👍. Davide came over to chat, mostfriendly. Will come nack when in Alba next.

After visiting a Canale-based winery, we stopped for dinner at Davide Palluda's casual Osteria and are glad we did. We ordered local Roero wines and the daily menu, which included some great traditional Piemontese dishes. Each was an exceptionally delicious and meticulously prepared, as one would expect from a renowned Michelin starred chef.

As porcini mushrooms had become available, the kitchen asked if we would enjoy our gnocchi prepared with porcini versus a ragu...not a difficult choice for my family!

Chef Palluda stopped by to check on our dinner; he is a very charming and talented fellow.

Would love to return and try his gourmet restaurant, but would be happy any night of the week to return to the Osteria.

Those visiting the Alba, Barbaresco, Barolo area or Roero need to put this place on their itineraries!

Did I mention the fantastic Arneis and Nebbiolos on their reasonably priced wine list?

We visited the osteria that is run by the chef of the one star restaurant on the first floor (where we go later this week). We got excellent and creative dishes for a very good price, in a nice setting combining tradition with contemporary, much like their kitchen. We would certainly recommend this Osteria.

We were recommended to visit by our guide at a winery. We were really thrilled with the whole experience. The chef is quite talented and we got to see him exit the restaurant to pick some fresh herbs from the garden right next to the porch where we were dining. Our server understood English so it was easy to communicate. We loved the carne cruda, gnocchi with meat sauce, and the zucchini flowers. The zucchini flowers were stuffed with cheese and served with a cherry tomato sauce which was a fresh dish we hadn't seen at other places in the area. We both loved it. The carne cruda was clearly of very high quality. The gnocchi was also quite good. We had a glass of Arneis as well but I'm not sure where it was from (was the blackboard white). Very great for a casual but delicious lunch while touring the area.
