“Beautiful palace not to be missed”
Review of Vijay Vilas Palace

Vijay Vilas Palace
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This palace is beautiful but of course that means popular, so unfortunately the visit is just a long slowly moving queue and we felt we were missing out on certain points of interest. Great views from the top, worth the climb. Was well worth visiting for its beauty..

Incredibly Beautiful, charming, wonderful architecture, can be maintained in much better way. It is like a fairy tale palace. You are made to remove your shoes before you enter but you realise that the place lacks maintaineces and need better palace staff. They should not allow cheap guides to even enter who have half knowledge on history of the palace and royal family. You need to keep a watch on such fellows. Otherwise is an extraordinary to visit and experience.

An exciting palace which was built during 1900. It has featured in many Hindi movies and thus has become more famous. Nicely maintained palace, has a lift which is not in use. Terrace provides a spectacular view. It is located close to Mandvi beach, but that it is not visible.

The palace where cult movies like Hum dil de chuke sanam and Lagan where shot. It is a summer house of the royalty and surely they believed in having huge open spaces. The mango yards and the surrounding wilderness must have been a treat in its prime days. The view from the top is a leisurely sea and a pleasant evening. This is what royalty must have been. Lazy summer days all year long.
