Description: The Jolly Sailor is a public house on the Cleddau Estuary, south facing with sunny lawned areas, and breath taking views and sunsets of the river. We have a rustic children's play area, parking, and a conservatory restraunt area overlooking the water. Also ther is a back bar with TV that is dog friendly There are always 2 real ales on offer as well as a range of different largers, ciders and Guinness. Our food is sourced locally as much as we can, and all the beef and lamb dishes are guaranteed Welsh. Most of our meat comes from award winning butcher , Andrew Rees of Narberth. Our menu consists of good traditional home cooked dishes, as well as desserts Food serving times are Mon to Fri 12.00 to 2.30. And 5.30 to 9.00 pm Sat 12.00 to 9.00 pm Sun 11.30 to 7.30 pm

Evening meal with some friends. Service good, food OK, prices reasonable. This is a pub catering for the masses. The location makes it.

We visit here quite frequently, generally when the weather is good as the garden overlooks the river and is a great place to enjoy the sunshine. They have a varied menu and portions are good. Generally the quality of food is also really good but it can be a bit hit and miss particularly in the summer when it gets busy.

We've visited the jolly sailor several times over the past 9 years and never have we been disappointed until our most recent visit. The menu hasn't changed in the past 9 years. We ordered a sirloin steak and a chicken curry half and half. Where do I start. I'm no Gordon Ramsay but honestly did the chef not learn about seasoning whilst training the food was bland beyond words. The chicken curry looked like a pile of vomit dished up with just 3 chunks of chicken. My husband requested his steak to be medium again I'm no expert but I'm sure medium means pink with partial blood. What He received was a steak so well done he could have used it as charcoal. We tried to draw the attention of the waitress. This proved impossible. In an old fashioned term there was more work in a sick note. We waited for a prolonged period of time to have our table cleared and to order deserts but unfortunately our table was never graced by a waitress. Nobody even checked that the food was ok. We quickly paid for our food and left feeling very angry and disappointed. The sad fact is that the jolly sailor used to be the in place to be with reservations needed weeks in advance but this isn't the case anymore. Needless to say we won't be returning.

Best to book as it gets very busy and try for a window seat as the views over the water are superb. The meals are value for money and well cooked. The main meal plates are quite large and well filled. The menu is varied but don't think you could go wrong as everything we had was very good. The service on the first night was excellent but slipped to good on the 2nd night but in fairness it was a lot busier and considering the amount of people who were eating they did very well and waiting time was not exceptional . All in all a good experience.

Sat in a bay window with views overlooking the river this is a lovely place. Has a large garden with tables for outside dining or drinks which goes to the rivers edge. Nice play area outside for children too. Service is good with lovely staff and the food is lovely and generous portions. Well worth going too
