I stayed at this hotel partly because Liverpool city centre was either full or very expensive and this hotel was affordable and within easy reach - just a half hour train journey to the seemingly upmarket suburb of Hoylake.
It is a typical Holiday Inn Express - comfortable room with decent bed, sitting area and desk, good lighting, okay bathroom. It was clean and well maintained. The hotel is a relatively modern building attached to an older house that has a separate restaurant (not part of the hotel).
The staff were friendly and helpful. A free breakfast is included and comprises cereals, juice, some pastries and hot English breakfast. It was reasonably good but, even on a relatively quiet Sunday morning, the servery area was rather untidy with not everything kept filled.
I was mostly impressed with this hotel and recommend it for anyone wanting a quieter location but still within easy reach of the city.More
