We were planning on going for a long drive and my friends came up with this place during their search. The deal was good which includes half board and a night's stay. To begin with, the drive to this place was really good, going through the mountains and reminded us of the village like feeling (back home) with occasional spotting of camels, sheep and goats.

On reaching the hotel, we were welcomed by one of the hotel people and provided us all identical Sea view rooms, which were comfortable for a small family. The hotel is maintained in a decent manner and we explored all the activities available in the hotel - Gym, Billiards, Table tennis, Swimming pools..One thing, which we would like the hotel to make a shift over if they need more visitors is to improve on the Fitness room, Gym, and have a life guard at the swimming pool. This will help in getting more visitors as this is the only place around Dibba.

Coming to the food, the food was a decent one, but improvements can be done on the food they are serving like including couple of more dishes during Dinner buffet. There is a bar located in the Ground floor and we felt the rates are on a little higher side and if they can start some Happy hours concept, it will be better.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we cannot say it's like a 4 star stay, but a decent one with some quality time to spend with family and friends, away from the busy life of the city and also the digital life (internet is a bit hard to get at times).

Room Tip: Quiet floors and sea view rooms are the best

We stayed in the hotel 2 nights from Wednesday to Friday. We booked 4 rooms for 3 families and had a wonderful short holiday there. First of all, from the booking till check out, Mr Mustafa was very helpful and professional by guiding us about the boarding passes (you need to get boarding passes form the hotel if you have UAE residency or tourist visa to pass UAE-Oman boarder), options about taking the meals in the hotel (bed and breakfast or half-full board) and anything needed during our stay. We would like to thank him so much. Also Omar was very helpful and friendly although he has little English(he met us in the boarder to hand over the passes and anything we needed during our stay).

The hotel definitely needs renovation but the main facilities were ok for 2 night stay. The rooms are very spacious and clean, bathroom is small but ok, pool is ok and the beach was perfect... (although there was an issue about oil pieces in the sea and sand sticking our feet, it was not a big issue and easy to clean by using little bit benzine, unfortunately it sometimes happens also in Fujairah coastline)

We ended up getting full-board as there are no restaurants around the hotel and you cant pass UAE side as the boarder passes are single entry. We had read many reviews about breakfast and open buffets being poor but we were impressed with the varieties to be honest (mostly Indian and Arabic stuff but we managed to get few of them on our taste). The restaurant staff was also very kind and helpful, we would like to thank them too...

We had a cruise one day. You can arrange it through the hotel. We watched the fishermen on the beach one evening; kids enjoyed helping them by picking the fish on nets and collecting them on fishermen's buckets..

The hotel was silent and better on Wednesday but got crowded on Thursday afternoon. You will like the hotel best on weekdays and as a group, I can say:)

Overall, 2 hours away from our home, we had an amazing short holiday. We definitely look forward staying there again. If they complete a renovation I am sure it will bring more value and bring more people as it is located in such an amazing location.

Room Tip: All rooms have sea view and very spacious

90 minutes out of Dubai brings you to Dibba, a quiet laid back not yet so caught up with development and touristic rush. The hotel itself is about 6-7 kms drive from the border and is located on a beautiful beach. The hotel is a G+1 low rise sand colored property blending in unobtrusively with the topography - the rocky mountains behind and the sea in front of it and that is a plus - so many hotels these days are eyesores sticking out in the landscape! To stay at the hotel you need to plan ahead as the hotel needs to prepare a border pass for all travellers - while a visa is not required, you still do need to carry your passport with a valid UAE residence visa or a tourist visa to enter. You need to call the hotel from the border, they send across their PRO with the border pass - our's came down after some telephoning and waiting for 30 mins or so..

We had a corner room so had views of both the mountain and the sea. The room was spacious and clean with a balcony to sit/enjoy the view from. There was a complete lack of noise like music from loudspeakers, etc which is so common in beach hotels in the UAE, that in itself made the trip worth the travel!

Breakfast served doesn't have much variety but it has enough options to set you up for the day. We had a full board package and hence didn't have to pay extra for food - the buffet lunch was fine, but again not much variety.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay, far from the crowds thronging the hotels and resorts in Dubai and would love to go back.

We had two rooms at the Tulip after a 2 night dhow cruise and was very surprised at how good it was. The sea facing rooms were large and well equipped, great balconies and quiet. Good enough pool and the Zebra bar was a neat little place to unwind. The hotel also has a great beach. The staff were very friendly, especially Philip who seemed to be everywhere at once. Dinner was good. As with most Golden Tulips the only downside is the attention to detail in the grounds and maintenance and breakfast was not that good.
