The cottage is in a lovely secluded courtyard complex with a small garden that is shared with another cottage. One of the best features of the cottage is the decking area overlooking the garden, which leads from the sitting room, which is comfortable and well furnished and equipped. Even in the rain, it was good to sit with the doors open. The cottage is dog friendly, it's small, but adequate for 2 people and a dog. The kitchen is downstairs, with very little natural light, but as the bedroom and sitting room on the first floor, this is a lovely light and airy space.
The owners were very welcoming and friendly, and the welcome pack included a 'cream tea' and a bottle of wine, which was a nice touch.
There is no parking, and as the cottage is on a very narrow street, you do have to unload fairly quickly - but the owner was on hand to help out. Parking is available in car parks or on the road nearby.
Appledore is a nice little village, with a few good places to eat and nice little art shops and there are plenty of great places to take the dog for a walk within a few miles drive.
