“Warm well equipped cottage in an excellent location”

This was our second stay at Friendly Cottage and it was just as we remembered. A well equipped, well maintained cottage in a nice quiet spot, that has the advantage of being close to a variety of places well worth visiting along the Ceridigion Coast and also further inland. We particularly enjoy coastal walks and so the cottage is well positioned for visiting the nearby beach at Cei Bach (few minutes drive with free parking), Newquay with its golden beach and fishing port is a 7 minute drive. We have walked the coast path in both directions from Cei Bach to Aberaeron and from NewQuay to the beautiful unspoilt cover at Cymtydu and onto Penbryn Beach (beautiful sandy beach, owned by the National Trust). Aberporth, Lllandbedrog and Tresaith are all nearby too. The large towns of Aberystywyth and Cardigan are less than an hours drive and you can on fishing trips from nearby NewQuay and Aberaeron. The cottage itself is well equipped and has everything you need should the weather turn bad - DVDs, books, interesting games and so on. Our children were particularly delighted by the cottage (were aged 5 and 6 the first year we visited and are now 6 and 7). We did not mind the sloping garden and did manage a game of football in it!! The owners are friendly and it is just the little extra touches that made us want to return. We go on cottage holidays a lot and do not often revisit the same one, but will visit this one again.

“Outstanding accommodation & location”
Reviewed 28 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Wonderful, well equipped accommodation in a lovely location. The cottage is located in a small village about 2 miles from the coast. The cottage is up a hill (not too steep) at the top end of the village in a lovely semi-rural location. It's a very private setting, very peaceful. The cottage is exactly how it looks in the pictures and extremely well equipped. The garden is quite basic and on a slope with narrow steps to access the first area so not suitable for very young children. The interior is very well decorated and very comfortable. The position of Llanarth (on A487) makes it a good base to explore the area. Our favourites (myself, husband & kids aged 13 & 10) were New Quay on a good weather day and Aberaeron. We also paid a visit to Cardigan & Aberyswyth which are both bigger towns with a good selection of shops. Eating out we enjoyed various tea rooms and had no complaints. In New Quay there are several Pubs / Restaurents and take away outlets. We tried Creme Pen Cei for takeout sandwiches and delicious ice cream and The Lime Crab for Fish & Chips. Both were lovely. Back in Llanarth we had one evening meal at the LLanina Arms which we found to be tasty & affordable.
All in all a wonderful holiday and we hope to return one day to Friendly Cottage.
