We stayed at this hotel for one night as we travelled through France by car. We found the place ideal to overnight for a peaceful rest. Although we had a super quick check in where Melanie who welcomed us was very attentive and welcoming, we arrived at the room to feel a bit disappointed with a strange odour of old and low levels of cleanliness.
We had a great meal in the room even though the room is not suitable for two adults having room service.
We were looking forward to a quiet night sleep as we had a long trip ahead the following morning.
To our amazement, there was a party at the hotel. Very loud and it felt like it was in our room. We called from the super dirty phone to reception where we were told, yes there is a party and it will last until 1 a.m.
I will close the door if it helps, was the answer from the male member of staff that didn't speak a word of English.
This issue was raised at check out but nothing was done, not even an apology.
Breakfast was average but definitely not a 4* hotel.
Apart from Melanie, I have to say that the other members of staff, especially whoever checked us out and the gentleman we spoke to over the phone, need training not to mention that rooms need to be updated and cleanliness levels majorly stepped up. From hair in the bathtub to a plug for the bath missing and the jungle of bacteria on the room phone to a filthy carpet, this definitely needs to be looked into.

Dear customer,

Thank you for your feedback following your stay in our hotel.
I am so sorry to read about your experience. We did well take your comments into account to improve our services. All our rooms are getting renovated (some of them are already available). We don't work anymore with the same company for cleaning the rooms and we now have a head housekeeper so I hope you will choose our hotel again for your next stay in Rouen!

I look forward to welcoming you again.

Mélanie

Lots going for this hotel. Extremely convenient stop-over en-route to Calais, no worries at all about finding the place or parking. The hotel looks smart and its staff are friendly and attentive. Our rooms on the ground floor were a good size, well equipped and in good condition. Having traveled a long distance we opted to dine in the restaurant which had a lovely ambience. The meal wasn't cheap but the food was well worth the price and the service was top notch. The restaurant was happy to allow our dog in, Sadly we were too tired to partake of the facilities in the bar after dinner, but again there seemed to be a very pleasant atmosphere. Well took advantage of the comprehensive choice for breakfast in the morning before setting off to continue our journey. Will definitely be using this hotel in future.

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground floor, rooms numbered in the 40s, which were quiet

Hotel a bit dated. Ageing shower equipment, mould appearing in grout.....
Mean allocation of 2 doses for coffee machine (but at least there was a coffee machine!)
Restaurant menu of classic dishes, but good quality for price.

Used this to break journey from South to Calais.
Excellent location from A28 & easy to find.
Excellent dinner & good room, if a little hot due to exceptional hot day & no aircon. in room.
Would use again for sure.

Mixed review from me with this hotel! Lovely feel when first arriving with free parking in secure pretty grounds on pleasant housing estate also near to main roads. Traditional check in from friendly French speaking host. Hotel is a little dated for my tastes in the communal areas and rooms although well equipped with nice traditional furniture had a very dated 1980's feel with embossed wallpaper separate poorly designed & decorated toilet & bathroom. The room I had was also extremely dusty, in fact I've never seen anywhere in the world the quantity of dust everywhere within the room. OK let's move on to food in the restaurant- food very nice although food options are not modern and traditional from menu options you would expect from 1960 - 1985 possibly. Oh the waiter never spoke one word to us at all during the whole meal, not even acknowledging our order for wine or food (simply stood next to table pen & paper in hand and when we ordered he just walked off). Breakfast it was awful, basic bread and terrible selection of scrappy meats & cheese, basic bowls of cereal. No staff at breakfast and no coffee (ran out) no milk (ran out).
