“Absolutely Perfect”
Reviewed 19 August 2013 for a stay in November 2012

I cannot say enough about this place. Having planned for several years to rent a villa in Italy for 3 weeks that my children and grandchildren could also use as a base for exploring Italy, it was especially important to get the "right one." After considering so many and stressing a great deal I came away knowing that I did indeed get the best one for us. It was both luxurious and cozy. All the rooms are lovely. I felt at home as soon as I entered (once I recovered from my swoon). Dinner nearly every night in the dining room with the fireplace blazing was memorable. Everything tasted so much better than at home! Go figure. The wine cellar, the chickens, the olive oil, the chestnuts...all of it offered something for everyone when we were not off exploring. We were able to visit 21 towns in 21 days. Property managers Alex an Olga were gracious and helpful. Prior to our arrival the owners had recommended a driver, Francis Surman, for any extended excursions etc. we might like to take. What an outstanding person. He was a wonderful source of information and made a trip to Pompeii, Capri and Positano something we will never forget. All traveling stress was eliminated. Mark, an American living in Torre Alfina took us on a wine tasting that was a blast. Torre Alfina is small but really has everything necessary to survive. It is beautiful, walkable and positioned so that visits to various hill towns (sometimes 2 in 1 day) is doable. Driving to these towns is fun. The topography is mind boggling at times. We had a good bit of rain but even that could not dampen our overall experience. It took over a month to get over my "homesickness" for the place when I arrived in the States. It is a GEM.

Liked best: There is nothing not to love.
Liked least: A built in microwave would be nice instead of the awkward placement of the present one...but hardly a deal breaker

“We keep coming back to the Villa.........”
Reviewed 14 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

This was our 4th stay at this Villa in the last 5 years , we can not stay away. A true home
away from home. The beautiful setting, grounds and view are just the beginning. On each visit we experienced the wonderful service from the moment we arrived until
our departure. Alex and Olga were always ready to assist us with all that we asked.
Highlight, a fully stocked wine cellar!!
Includes a GPS with preloaded towns, museums and resturants and two cell phones
to communicate if traveling with a group.
A great location to visit Umbria & Tuscany . A short train ride to Florence & Rome , we did it all. The Villa is equiped with guides & suggestions made by the owners for day trips, wineries, resturants and all things Italian for a daily aventure.
Although some days we simply enjoyed the property, the pergola and hammock
made for great resting spots to enjoy a glass of wine and some good reading.
Or a stoll in the village for a expresso or gelato.
Looking forward to our return in the fall of 2013
