Even though its Summer and the Dolphin is busy, they never fail in the service or food ....always well executed and tasty. Always a treat to return. The Sunday lunch is very good value. When we are in Aldeburgh we always swing by.

I booked this break for my partner's birthday! Last year I was very disappointed with the choice I made.. not so this year !! The Dolphin at thorpeness delivered on all aspects!! Our room was lovely very roomy with a huge bed! An addition of a fan in this uncharacteristic very hot weather was great and very welcoming!! A lovely rain shower was a very welcome addition to the bathroom! Breakfast choices were very good and chef even made me an omelette one morning even though it wasn't on the menu!! The food in general was very good maybe a tad pricey but the quality justifed that! Most of the staff were very accommodating and helpfu! There was only one that we found to be morose and unhelpful!! The Dolphin achieved exactly what we wanted we came to chill out and recharge our batteries and we did just that!! We will definitely do a return trip at some point!!! 5 V

We came here on our last trip before heading back home and were so happy we did - not only is the town gorgeous but the Dolphin did not disappoint.
The staff were lovely and very helpful, food was fresh and tasty and served in a timely manner - we could have sat there all day but alas all good things must come to an end.
I'm just gutted The Dolphin isnt on our own doorstep!

Three generations staying in Thorpeness for a family reunion, we kept returning to the Dolphin - for dinner, for lunchtime beers, for evening aperitifs. Always clean, tidy, tables cleared, flowers watered, garden spacious and well-kept. Through the day it had a relaxed mix of walkers, cyclists, caravanners, visitors, residents - all welcomed equally.

We have just returned home from a 2 night stay at The Dolphin. Despite having seen photos online we were not prepared for how pretty The Dolphin was in the flesh, it really is a beautiful little place! We stayed in Room One which had a very comfortable large bed and was tastefully decorated, we were pleased to find a fan which was well utilised by us in the hot weather. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner but be warned the restaurant gets very busy so make sure you book. All staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially David the owner and the lady who served breakfast. The resident dog Charlie was an added bonus. The Dolphin itself is ideally situated in the heart of Thorpeness and is a short walk to the beach and the Meare. We will definitely return in the future.
