First of all there were only two girls looking after the restaurant. We had booked days earlier and were shown to our table. One of the chairs was backed into the passageway where people would be walking so we asked to be moved. When the food arrived it wasn't too bad but my mother's pork was served with no apple sauce which I thought was poor. Apple sauce always goes with pork. You shouldn't have to ask for it.
I then ordered pudding and my sister wanted a liqueur coffee. One of the waitresses, who were doing their best, came back and said they didn't have any cream. No cream on a Sunday lunchtime - and we were the first in there - is ridiculous. Then they completely forgot to bring my Eton Mess Icecream Sundae. Either that, or they went to Eton to get it! All in all what should have been a splendid lunch in a spectacular building was an extremely average experience. I blame poor management, not the two girls who were rushed off their feet. We won't return.More
