“Weekend stay for scafell hike”
Reviewed 18 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Great place, perfect location for the langdales and bow fell, scafell walks. Short stroll to the wainwright inn in the evening. Incredible value for money I'd totally recommend for groups (we were a 4 of forty something's...) or familys.

“Well worth it!”
Reviewed 28 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

It was a great stay, wasn't too hard to find, but hardly any signal. Couldn't access my email which contained the information for check-in but there's a bar not far away where the bar staff kindly let us used their wifi! My own mistake of course!

Made up of three floors, three bedrooms, the bathroom also came with a lock (that's quite rare but useful!). It's a shame that we were only there for a night. A peaceful and quiet place to getaway to, sheeps wondering around within minutes of walk.

“Great location. Great views. Great value!”
Reviewed 4 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We (five 20 somethings from London) had an absolutely fantastic stay at the cottage. It was clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. We all had a great time! The view from the cottage is absolutely spell binding and while we were incredibly fortunate with the weather, I think even during the colder parts of the year this part of the Lakes would be great to visit. Highly recommend a visit. The only downside (although I was actually quite happy about it) was a complete lack of phone reception and rather pricey internet if you did want to contact the outside world.

“Great location for relaxing walking trip”
Reviewed 10 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

The house is located in a small village with walking paths all around through beautiful scenery. despite being small the village has a very handy local coop shop with most of the basics you might need covered.

The house itself is warm and comfortable, had all the basic requirements for holiday let, dishwasher, cooker etc. The beds were very comfortable and everything seemed to be in good condition and well maintained. The only thing we really missed was the internet (mainly to research where to go!) particularly as we had no mobile reception there. There were plenty of leaflets and printouts of good walks though.

One day we walked from Chapel Stile (the village where the house is located) to Grasmere over the fells which was very pleasant walk although tiring. Ambleside has great restaurants and shops too, but Grasmere is a bit more tranquil! We had a lovely few days there, and it was very relaxing place to spend time.
