The 'Olds' decided to have lunch out today and visited Murrayfield just north of Levin on state highway 56. We have been there before and enjoyed our meal so it was an obvious choice for lunch. Staff were friendly, meal was delivered in time and it was tasty. Staff also listened and acted on a request for a particular ingredient not to be anywhere near my food. Spot on guys, we will be returning!

I've been a few times and had lovely food and coffee, but I've also been several times, got there and found it's been closed. We were very disappointed.

Saying that, I've always found the prices to be very reasonable and the food selection great!

I've been to Murrayfield's Cafe quite a few times before.
It was always a great place to take kids. Outside there used to be horses, sheep, goats and a paddock with small animals the children could pet such as rabbits and guinea pigs, also different kinds of hens and ducks.
But our visit on Sunday was really disappointing; two very muddy llamas, 2 ditto goats, two miserable-looking Shetland ponies and ducks enjoying the many puddles in the parking area!
It was a very popular venue being Father's Day so there were long queues.
But despite that, the staff did really well to serve people as quickly and pleasantly as they could.
The food reflected the extra busy day; not totally fresh and haphazard presentation on the plates.
However it is still a nice place to have lunch and I would recommend it.
Next visit will be a week day when they museum at the back of the cafe is open and hopefully it won't be so busy.

There is a good selection of cabinet food and also an extensive menu board. Prices are reasonable and the service is good.
