Thanks very much to all the staff members for making this an unforgettable stay. The hotel excels in every way and the beach is really great. Especially the bungalows with beach access are highly recommendable. The hotel size is just about right and luckily not too big and has nice Mediterranean-style palm plantations. Thanks also a lot to the entertainment manager and his staff for the great choice of live music and the beach volleyball. Nice not too far excursions are beautiful Preveli beach and boat trip Choria Sfakion to Samaria gorge.

Stayed here for last full week in September through a deal with Voyage Prive. It was stll expensive but it fitted exactly what we were looking for. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom villa which was on the sea front. Beautifully appointed rooms. Lovely big bed which was extremely comfortable. Do agree with other comments on the pillows. A pillow menu would be an advantage. We had a gazebo reserved in front of our patio on the lawn . Luxury! The rooms were spotless and tended to twice a day. There was a small fridge with typically expensive drinks etc. However there was a complimentary bottle of white wine and bottled water provided at least once a day. Sheets were changed daily. Lovely quiet air conditioning . Great products in the bathrooms too. Dressing gowns, slippers, beach bag and flip flops provided. Fruit platter in the room on arrival. Also got a platter of fruits and cakes and chocolates left in the room every second day. Yummy!
When you arrive you are seated and welcomed with such a platter and a choice of juice or iced tea. Also a cold towel. You also get occasional cold towels brought to you on the beach or the grass. We only visited the beautiful pool in the late afternoon but expect they do the same there. The whole complex is beautifully white and oh so clean. Did not feel crowded at all although there did seem to be quite a few guests. Very much an intimate boutique hotel. The pool is surrounded by a selection of beds. The leaf beds were very comfortable and great to cool off in
The food in the buffet was excellent, varied and plentiful. The orange juice at breakfast was the best we have ever tasted. We were on half board package so ate dinner in the hotel every night of our stay. We were given 2 complimentary dinners at the Al a carte. The food was very good there too but menu not that extensive. We can recommend the steak! It was lovely to be served as a treat. The food in the evenings at the buffet was great. There was a chef station where there were various roasts and grills cooked for you. Cannot think that anyone could not find something they liked to eat. Oggy is a very talented restaurant manager everyone feel special . All the waiting staff were top notch. Thanks especially to Soula, young Giorgis and our other waitress. Sorry cannot exactly remember her name. It began with an 'L'. She has blonde hair. Were amazed at how many languages they all spoke. Marika, the manager, and her senior team really need congratulating on how they run the hotel. Marika is also a manager who is not hidden away. Lovely to see her in evidence at all times of the day and night. The reception staff were very helpful . Thank you Ioannis for your help before and during our stay.
The beach is a mixture of sand and pebbles then when you get in many stones and rocks. Quite uneven and the sea was quite choppy at times. Need shoes and do not think it is at all suitable for children. Luckily there were not many kids there during our stay as out of school holidays! That is why we booked in September! Small rocky reef off the shore which is worth snorkeling.
Prices for drinks and lunches very expensive. Expect to pay around 35 euros at least for a bottle of wine at dinner. We utilised local supermarkets and went across the road to the taverna for lunch once. Am sure that if the hotel reduced these prices there would be more take up as we hardly saw anyone ordering drinks or food from any bars during the day. Evening entertainment ok. Best one is the three tenors tribute!
A visit to Rethmyno is well worth it. Bus stop right outside the hotel and taxi journey only ten euros. The area is perhaps not the real romantic idea of Greece but in reality the proper Greece perhaps. Tourist shops, car hire etc, tavernas etc. it is the main coastal strip road for the area! Just as we expected. If you want the 'real' Greece one would not perhaps choose to stay in any hotel along the coast as tourism is really Greece's main economy.
Would we go back? Of course!

We spent 12 truely relaxing days at recently opened Caramel in August. The staff was excellent and most of all sincerely affectionate, so we felt very welcome. Many thanks to Eliza from guest service, Olessya from the kids club, Oggi and Natasha from the restaurant and everyone we might have forgotten and who made our stay so relaxing. This hotel has the best pool we have ever seen, both for adults and kids. Due to the temperatures we spent most of our stay there. The beach was nice, but the current too strong for little kids. Unforgettable was the experience of seeing turtels hatch at the beach. Great buffet with a variety of healthy, delicious food. First holidays during which we didn't gain weight! The entertainment program was quite good, e.g. life music every night.
One should definitely spend an evening at the Agreco farm, where many of the produce served at the hotel come from, including cosmetics like the very good conditioner.

Things to be improved to justify the high prices:
Rooms in main building are not soundproof, you can hear your neighbors and the air-condition on the roof, which is operating for the whole building. Softer mattresses and a pillow menu offering flat pillows would have improved our sleep.
The reception staff are a little unorganised, didn't get back to us with information and finally our check out was delayed by half an hour due to a wrong bill.
Gym is missing, but is planned for the next year. Commuting to Creta Palace was inconvenient and the equipment there was outdated.
Could improve kids safety (slippery floor around the pool, pool toilet doors hard to unlock).
