Good value

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 7 Jan 2016via mobile
One of the best value accommodation in NZ during peak season @ $112 p/night. Nice outlook to golf course and mountains. Free golf if you stay there and clubs are provided - it's a pretty basic 9 hole course - more like a bigger version of pitch and putt, but a nice bonus. No food there, so best bet is to go to the Lake Brunner Hotel for a decent feed with a nice view overlooking the lake.

while the rooms are on the small side they are very neat well decorated and comfortable ... the view looking out on the golf course is superb ... and a quick round on the first day showed it to be more than just a show piece ... it is not family accommodation but if you are single a couple or traveling with friends this is a great well priced place to rest your bones .... and the host and hostess will do their utmost to ensure you enjoy your stay ... and the fishing is great! !!

My wife and I stayed hear for one night whilst travelling in the South Island. The unit was very modern, clean and had everything that one needs. The bed was large and very comfortable. These units do not have cooking facilities. We pre booked and paid $119. We were happy with the reception we got on arrival and on our check out. Reasonable value for money and we got exactly what we booked. It's just as much a golf course as motel but it didn't matter as not another soul was there either staying in the accomodation or playing golf. Would we stay again? Yes. The only negative to the place was it is out of Moana village and has no views only the golf course. One night stay-superb. Moana is a lovely lakeside village and had we been touring from there for a fewdays I think that I may have opted to stay in Moana itself. This in no way reflects on the motel and I would have no hestation in reccomending the place to even the most discerning of people.( even though a sign at the entrance did say accomodation tonight $109 ) May have said FROM eh. Never mind i'm quite happy and I will call the $20 a booking/reservation fee. CHEERS EVERONE !!!

We stayed at the Lake Brunner Accommodation & Golf Course whilst touring New Zealand. What a lovely place! Spotlessly clean, everything we needed was provided in the room, and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. We wished we were there longer!

After a wonderful drive over Arthur's Pass we took the Lake Brunner detour and were looking for somewhere to stay. We were heading for a holiday park, but just before it on the left we saw a sign for this motel. We didn't like the holiday park at all, so went back to look at the motel. Small (only six rooms, I think) but set back from the road and therefore quiet. Very nice clean room with good shower and kettle etc. Apparently we were entitled to nine holes of golf in the morning, but wanted to get away early-ish. Less expensive than many motels (we paid $109); Highly recommended.

had a very comfortable night at the lake Brunner accomodation despite not being golfers! The hotel was immaculate, everything we could wish for apart from a Microwave. Only Downside was that the walls are very thin and we could hear our neighbours showering and snoring! It is a little way out of town so would need a car, although one could walk it in half an hour this is along a busy road with no foot way. Only one place to eat, the hotel. Very nice food but a long wait.

Room tip: Ask for a room away from reception, not room 1
