First visit to Japan and this was a perfect spot to stay. Its in a pleasant area with Nezu (main station) nearby, baby panda around the corner at Ueno zoo, a great udon noodle restaurant, french bar & supermarket within walking distance. The staff were fabulous, our room was big and clean with a small but very functional bathroom. There's a lavish kitchen, huge fridge and storage downstairs if you want to cook, however breakfast - yum yum - is provided along with a daily welcome drink, making Graphy a bargain on price point. An LP player is spinning out some old favourites and everyone is friendly - a relaxed atmosphere. A great alternative to staying in a big anonymous hotel that charges a kings ransom for everything. I would definitely revisit.

Room tip: Request a large room

The cheapest hotel I stayed in during my recent trip to Japan, Hotel Graphy Nezu really upped my expectations for hotels for when I next visit. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the rooms were very tidy, spacious, and well-kept, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was really nice.

We just returned from a nine-day stay at the Hotel Graphy. I had booked there because of its reasonable price point. Surprising findings: Our double room was small but adequate. The private bathroom was a large step up from the level of the bedroom. There was no closet but there was a place to hang clothes on the wall. The aircobditioner struggled to cool the room during the heat wave. Pros: the English-speaking front desk staff was uniformly pleasant and helpful. Hotel guests were entitled to one free drink daily, and a draft beer went down really well during said heat wave! They had yummy sandwiches served with excellent shoestring frenchfries as a breakfast option. Housekeeping was impeccable. There are free washer-dryers for guests. There is a train station five minutes away and a three-story grocery store eight minutes away on foot. There is an enormous park just a few minutes away as well. Best of all, when I left my iPad mini in my room on departure by accident, the hotel had it in the mail back to me within 48 hours! I would gladly stay here again next time I am in Tokyo, and will upgrade to a king-size bedroom.

Highly recommend this hotel 3 minutes from Nezu subway station and 3 minutes from Ueno park. The hotel is clean, staff are super and if you get breakfast order the dashimaki- it's like a delicious omelette sandwich! There are about 14 urban districts in Tokyo, so we didn't get to explore them all. But walking around the hotel area up to Yanaka cemetery and onto the golden stairs for some street food was definitely a highlight!

The cafe was very meat-centric. We asked about the tofu and veggie sandwiches we had seen on instagram and were told they were out of season so we settled for the egg sandwich. They garnished it with ham even though we had just asked about vegan options. Luckily they had a kitchen where we could prepare our own food but veggie options in the cafe would be an easy way to satisfy, and include, a lot of travelers in this ‘social’ hotel.

Room tip: More outlets would be convenient

Dear hmathe855433,

Thank you for taking your time to write a review.

We appreciate your honest review and it will definitely improve our service.

We also consider variety of food menu including vegan options as a necessity of this century.

Thank you again, and we hope that we will have a chance to welcome you again here in Nezu.
