The garden is very big and I didn't expect that was also so beautiful. Here you can see the old Japanese style with the new Tokyo's skyscrapers. Great surprise!

We went here in August so I was really too hot to totally enjoy. Its not a destination for itself but would recommend to go there from Tsujiki fish market to catch a ferry up the Sumida river to Asakusa. The ticket to the gardens can include a ferry or you can buy at the ticket machine in the park.

It's a nice sanctuary in Tokyo. A recommendation to look into getting reservations at the tea house beforehand next time. We arrived via boat on a boat tour. You can get here by train or taxi as well. We spent a few hours walking around and then took to the train to our next location. If the weather is nice - worth the visit.

My hotel recommended Hama Rikyu garden for a walk. It is right next to Shiodome monorail station. There is a small entrance fee. Once inside you are transferred out of the busy sky scrapper Tokyo into a traditional Japanese garden. There are several ponds inside and it is also on Tokyo bay canal. It is hot walking around in the summer so I recommend going early in the morning or late in evening. There is a great small tea house in the middle of one of the ponds where you can have green tea and japanese sweets. I enjoyed walking around very much. Great garden!

It is quite a surprise that you can find somewhere so peaceful an serene in the busy colossus of Tokyo.

We walked here from Tsukiji while we waited for the market to open.

It's a nice little walk and there is some lovely traditional Japanese scenery in the gardens.

Very much worth a quick visit.

Thank Sam H
