My hotel recommended Hama Rikyu garden for a walk. It is right next to Shiodome monorail station. There is a small entrance fee. Once inside you are transferred out of the busy sky scrapper Tokyo into a traditional Japanese garden. There are several ponds inside and it is also on Tokyo bay canal. It is hot walking around in the summer so I recommend going early in the morning or late in evening. There is a great small tea house in the middle of one of the ponds where you can have green tea and japanese sweets. I enjoyed walking around very much. Great garden!

It is quite a surprise that you can find somewhere so peaceful an serene in the busy colossus of Tokyo.

We walked here from Tsukiji while we waited for the market to open.

It's a nice little walk and there is some lovely traditional Japanese scenery in the gardens.

Very much worth a quick visit.

This month is too hot so no flower here and nothing special to see. There is a port for boat to Asakusa. From boat you can see rainbow bridge.

This beautiful garden is a short walk from the fish market so we incorporated it into our day.

The entrance fee is reasonable and is about $3 a person. They loan you parasols to walk around the garden to avoid the sun. The garden itself is mostly trees, grass, with a small section of flowers.

There are many shaded spots to sit and relax. There’s a small kiosk near the center selling snacks, drinks and other small souvenirs. I didn’t notice if there’s another place to buy food.

The first garden I visited when going to Japan. Very beautiful and spread out. Its larger then it seems when entering. I reccomend seeing the houses built in the middle of the lake with bridges connecting it to the land. Makes for a nice picture.
