Charming hotel down a tiny cobbled street, staff were very helpful with our luggage and very dog friendly. Our room was perfect ... Clean, spacious and a view to die for, looking over the sea. Will definitely stay again. No restaurant but Geraria has some fabulous places to eat a few minutes walk from the hotel

If you are thinking of spending some time in Basque Country, I highly recommend staying at the Saiaz Getaria Hotel. The staff is wonderful. We could hear the ocean waves and watch surfers from our room (#36). The breakfast was delicious. There are multiple pintxos bars within two blocks, and we found them all to be very good. It was a quick drive into San Sebastián, but back in Getaria we were away from the crowds which is what we prefer. The room was very comfortable. Be sure to reserve a parking space if you are driving. They only charge a little over one euro a day for their parking garage, which is about four doors down from the hotel (built in the 15th century). Otherwise you have to park at the bottom of medium sized hill and trek back up to the hotel. We loved our stay here!

Thank you Babschambers, for your comments.

We are glad to know you had a so good time in our Hotel.
We would be pleased to see you again. If you would come back, you probably realised that most people come to getaria before and around noon, to spend the day. Then they leave the town at about 7 or 8 pm, so parking becomes easy again.

Best regards,
Mikel

Thank you very much Kristin W for your review:

It was a pleasure meeting you.
We hope your walking experience along the Camino after Getaria has been as good as your previous days.

As you say, some of our bedrooms have bathtubs, and others showers. And as you say, the hotel is built in a XV.th century gothic ruin of what was a Merchant family tower house.

Best regards, and best wishes for your next hikes.

Mikel

The staff are welcoming, efficient and informative. Old and new build are intertwined and well balanced.
We had a third floor room with a great view of the bay and fell asleep to the sound of breaking waves.
Free wifi, garage parking, excellent breakfast with good coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice, bacon etc.
Great location to which we will return again.
