“June Holiday”

We have just returned from spending 10 nights at Maison du Rocher and wishing we were still there. The property is small, was lovely and clean and had everything we needed for our stay, the outside terrace and the pool were excellent. It is a quiet village with easy access to plenty of places to visit, we particularly enjoyed, Uzes on market days, Pont du Gard and although slightly farther to travel the Pont d' Arc in the Ardeche Valley, Mark and George are excellent hosts and knowledgeable on the local area and can suggest places to visit, restaurants and directions to local supermarkets if needed. We would recommend and stay here again when next in this area.

This wonderful holiday let is situated in a beautiful, extremely quiet village within easy reach of the lovely town of Uzes with its colourful market. Sadly we were only there for one week, there are so many wonderful things to see and do in the area we will have to return.

The accommodation is compact, stylish and exceeded all our expectations. The kitchen facilities were good, the shower room was modern and a pleasure to be in, the bed was comfortable, the patio area and pool were perfect.

It was a privilege to meet Mark and George who were attentive but not intrusive. Their recommendations and suggestions on where to go were very well informed and useful.

This is the only property we have rented in France in the past five years that we have wanted to return to, even the internet worked!

We would, without hesitation recommend this property.

“relaxing stay in a wonderful Provencal village”
Reviewed 22 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

A very nice, relaxing stay in the upper part of a 3 storey village house, built into a hillside (so single aspect) with its own terrace, pool, and entrance.
British owners Mark & George are resident on site.
Compact accommodation was ideal for our limited holiday needs. Bed on an upper mezzanine level. Bathroom and kitchen off the lower living/ dining space. No tv or microwave. Wifi available.Terrace dining also and pool a bonus, even if you can't swim. Sun loungers were nice. All enclosed behind stone wall /gates.
Gorgeous stone-built Provencal hill village with a restaurant,a pizzeria within walking distance and a shop for daily provisions a short walk away. Pretty much everything we needed for a short stay.
Parking about 100m away.
Uzes just a few minutes drive away. A fantastic medieval town with plenty to do,and Nimes and Pont du Gard / Avignon not far away by car. Arles (van Gogh) too.
All in all just what the doctor ordered.

“Met all expectations and more.”
Reviewed 8 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

An extended 31 day stay is a good test for a holiday rental, and Maison du Rocher in St. Siffret passed with flying colours under all headings.
The location is ideal; only 10 mins. from Uzes and a short drive to a host of beautiful towns and villages, including Avignon, Nimes and Arles, and also convenient to the Pont du Gard, the Camargue and many beaches.

When not sightseeing we enjoyed the sunshine on our terrace and had our pool if we got too hot. Our studio gite had every convenience and was very comfortable, quiet and private. At the same time, our hosts, who live adjacent, were accessible, friendly and most helpful, but in no way intrusive.

The restaurant in the village, three minutes walk from the gite provides excellent food and has quality live music on alternate Saturday nights.

What more could one ask? Oh yes! The sun did shine every day.
